ANTONIO I spun the heavy steel wheel on the inside of the panic room door. The massive metal bolts slammed securely into place, creating an absolute, impenetrable hydraulic seal. The second the door locked, the emergency power grid kicked on. Dim, blood-red emergency lights flickered to life on the ceiling, casting harsh, terrifying shadows across the bare concrete walls of the secure bunker. The room was completely soundproof. The absolute, dead silence was deafening after the explosive chaos of the dining room. I turned around to look at her. Olivia was backed entirely against the far steel wall. She was trembling violently, her chest heaving with frantic, uneven gasps of air. Her ruined green silk dress was torn at the hem. Her beautiful hair was a messy tangle of dust and plaster.
