Week 2 Character Development A New Tide - Meet Dane

Dane Deverough

Physical and personality Description: Human, handsome, Six feet four inches tall, smoothly muscled with deeply tanned skin, dark wavy black hair and startlingly sea green eyes.  Has a small scar on his left ankle from an injury received as a small boy when freediving with his father in the Mediterranean ocean as a boy.  Tends to wear well fitted clothes in formal situations, but likes wearing tank tops and shorts when out on the warm ocean.  Enjoys the wind and water hitting him and the feeling of freedom the ocean presents.  Does not sport fish.  Deeply curious about the ocean and all the  creatures that haven't yet been discovered, and the places that haven't  been explored.  He finds many of the rich socialites who frequent the business circles he has grown  into to be shallow  and uncaring about the ocean and it's potential, the mysteries it holds.  Passionate about his interests, but he refuses to indulge in the alcohol and drugs common to college parties because of how his mother died.

Best friend is Kane Juneau – loyal to Dane, grew up poor until Dane found his family and insisted his father give them jobs, opportunities to better themselves. Mother is Dane's housekeeper and cook, Dad is Dane's personal butler and chauffeur.

Physical Description - Kane is six feet four, with dark olive skin, chocolate brown eyes and straight light brown hair.  His natural olive complexion tans well, but shows a Mediterranean heritage.  He looks like a bodybuilder, with heavy musculature and looks imposing, sometimes frightening ladies away for Dane when they do not want to take a hint.

Dane's Father is pushing him to get married to secure family legacy with an heir because of poor health,  rich playboy, enjoys water sports, boating, swimming, not yet ready to settle down and have kids even if Father wants them.  Father has had a recent decline in health after an accident with one of the submersible experimental crafts, so has temporarily halted continued development of manned submersibles in favor of ROV development.  Dane's Father is Donald Deverough, aged 54, six feet tall, more heavyset with graying hair and dark brown eyes.  His wife Amanda is deceased, she passed away when Dane was five in an accident involving a drunk driver.
