I tapped my fingers according to the rhythm as I stared at the cars that passed the bus, luckily I had decided to by a bus card when the hospital informed my Aunt that both had to go in. We said our goodbyes at the bus stop and it hurt me to see my Aunt crying as she hugged me, I'm sure that even Theodore will shed a tear or two tonight.
It's astonishing how scared I'm feeling now, I'm going to a place I've only read about and saw news about.
"O my! Did you hear about the trial that was held yesterday?" The girl in front of me giggled.
"I heard it was ruthless and that the student left without another word." The other one nodded.
"What did he expect, that trial is unbeatable...but they did give him a rough time." the first girl sigh
"Isn't he supposed to be a second year..."
I unlocked my phone to turn up the volume of the music before going to google and searched for news on H.P.Z Olympus University, it was build in 1865 in the for of what they believed Olympus would look like. The founder of the university was crazy about Greek mythology and some say that he was so far lost in his studies that he wanted to make those so-called gods real, after about ten years he disappeared and left his home to Z. Fulgur that was supposedly a very dear friend of his. With the help of his brothers they created a university that anyone can study at, everything said about this place was good except for this trial that is held for what ever reason. It is a trial that has been publicly showcased and the defendant has always lost to the accused. What is more strange is that everyone only ever remembers about the Trial and who was the defendant's lawyer but they never remember what the trial was about or how it went exactly. I let out a sigh as I looked at the time, there's still about three hours left before we can reach the university and there's no way that I'll be able to sleep.
"Do you mind if I take this seat?" a soft voice spoke in my head.
I looked up with a frown, staring back at a small girl who was looking at me with a smile. Her golden eyes seemed to shine as she looked at my bag and back at me, I took the bag without a word and watched her as she sat down next to me. Her hair was medium length with strange feathers and beads braided in, her skin had a strange tint between dark and light. I you look closely you can even see small freckles over het nose, when she lifted het arm to greet me I got to see what looks like Medusa tattoo on her arm. It's one of the best I have seen so far to be honest, her face looked like it was made to perfection and the way he drew her closed eyes and tight mouth seemed to scream in how much pain she is. The hair was a strange combination between snakes and normal curls, all in all it was gorgeous.
"I'm Madeleine." I took out one ear bud as I shook her hand with my other hand.
"Hello I'm Theo, short for Theodora." she smiled
"My uncle's name is Theodore." I nodded, checking my phone to see if I might have received any messages.
"So this makes us friends right?" she giggled as she turned her body towards mine.
"If making friends were easy I wouldn't be here alone now would I?" I snapped automatically, wondering where I heard those words before.
I looked up to see her shocked expression, this must be her first time away from home and now she's seated next to a very uncomfortable person. I looked down at my phone and scrolled through the music.
"You must be very lonely?" she whispered
I looked at her through the side of my eyes, caught off guard by the sad look in her eyes. It looked like she was seeing someone else completely or rather remembering something to be precise.
"One's not lonely when one is content to be by themselves" I shrugged
"You sound just like someone I knew." she shook het head as she made herself more comfortable.
"Are they waiting for you at your destination?" I sighed as I kept this conversation going, or really is hard communicating with people.
"No, she dies a long time ago."
"Sorry to hear that." I mumbled, hoping that she won't try to talk to me further.
"You don't look sorry." she laughed.
"Maybe because I don't know that friend of yours, I don't like emotions and neither do I like people." I groaned as I locked my phone, closing my eyes and leaned my head against the back.
"What are you going to study then?"
"Law."
"Now how do you want to go and study something that has everything to do with people?" she sighed, her voice filled with confusion.
"I'm going to work with wat you call monsters or villains."
"I'm going to study art, I'm thinking of making a sculpture." she giggled
"Will it be the same thing that you got tattooed on your arm?" I mumbled, feeling myself in starting to drift off.
"How did you see that?" she yelled, grabbing my shoulders.
"Your shirt lifted up and I saw the picture, you hardly placed it on a place that is hard not to notice." I growled, pulling her hands off my shoulder.
"But I covered it with makeup, see! " she exclaimed, pushing her arm towards my face.
"I'm really not interested." I hissed, slapping her arm away.
"You're more like my friend than I gave you credit for." she mumbled.
"Theo!" a male voice shouted for her attention at the back.
"Charles! I'll see you later Mads!" she laughed, leaving her bag behind as she moved to the guy.
I ended up just shaking my head before looking out the window again, thinking back I never noticed once when the bus stopped to pick up new students. It's almost like the just appeared on the bus, I smiled as I thought that this would make for an excellent beginning of a horror story. I looked at my phone again when I heard loud squeals, looking back up I caught sight of the campus coming into view. There was a massive grass plain in front oc the school with only a strange reddish green trees planted next to the road on both sides that leads to the school. There were a few dark green trees in the grass plain that had a few students occupying them. The university itself looked a lot like those pictures of Olympus that people draw, the only real difference was that it was a one story building and that you can clearly see the bricks of the building.
The bus stopped and I got everything together before climbing off, I waited patiently as the driver took out everyone's luggage at the bottom of the bus before grabbing mine and heading to what looked like the main entrance. At the top of the stairs stood a gorgeous woman who stared at everyone making their way towards her, her smile grew in satisfaction as if she confirmed something important. She was tall with the body of a model, her long blond curls were pulled back and held together with a rose clip. She has a scarlet red dress that covers her porcelain white skin and a black silk jacket lightly thrown over her shoulders, het lips are painted the same red colour and het makeup was done like a fox that seems to bring out her emerald-green eyes. There were a few wolf whistles as the guys were talking to each other in hushed tones.
A shiver ran down my spine as I looked up into the sky, I'm pretty sure I applied for Law and not modeling.
"My name is Rodite Pha and I'm the person that is assigned to welcome the new student this year, if you all will follow me I'll explain your areas and what you will be expecting for this year." she sang the last few words, making almost everyone giggle in excitement.
She looked over everyone a last time before her eyes landed on mine, her perfect sculpted face scrunched for a few seconds in confusion before she turned around and headed inside. I waited for everyone to pass by me as I tried to calm down my nerves, for that split second it almost felt like I was facing an opponent in a war zone. Shaking my head I let out a breath before catching up to the rest of my group.
