Chapter 11
Adrian Williams woke up smiling. Not because life was peaceful but because life was entertaining. One girl was still asleep beside him while the other lazily traced circles against his arm, clearly too comfortable to leave yet.
“Careful,” she murmured with a laugh, watching him stretch near the edge of the bed. “You’re going to fall.”
Adrian yawned dramatically. “Then both of you are legally required to save me.”
“That’s not how laws work.”
“That sounds like a personal opinion.”
She laughed softly and shook her head.
The room looked exactly how his mornings usually did—clothes scattered everywhere, curtains half open, expensive alcohol forgotten on the table, music still playing quietly from somewhere in the background. Messy, warm and alive. Adrian preferred it that way. The Williams estate already had enough order for everybody.
“You always wake up talking this much?” the second girl asked sleepily.
“Only when I survive the night.”
“You’re ridiculous.”
“I’m memorable,” he corrected.
The girls laughed again.
Adrian liked laughter. It made things feel normal or at least less heavy. He reached toward the bedside drawer, pulled out a stack of cash, and casually handed it over.
One of them blinked. “Are you seriously paying us right now?”
Adrian placed a hand over his chest like he’d been insulted. “I’m rewarding good company. Learn the difference.”
“You’re unbelievable.”
“And yet people keep coming back.”
Neither girl argued. Both moved towards him and kissed him passionately in turns before picking up the money.
Adrian leaned comfortably against the headboard, completely relaxed as he watched them move around the room.
Then the bedroom door suddenly opened without knocking.
“Adrian—”
He nearly choked.
“…Seriously?” Dennise’s voice came immediately after.
Adrian grabbed the nearest pillow and covered himself dramatically. “There are naked people in here!”
Dennise walked in anyway. Completely unfazed.
“I noticed.”
The girls froze awkwardly.
Dennise barely spared them a glance before focusing on her brother.
“Do you ever do anything useful?” she asked.
Adrian stared at her in disbelief. “Do you ever knock before entering rooms?”
“No.”
“That explains a lot about your personality.”
Dennise ignored him and crossed her arms. “You have ten minutes.”
“For what?”
“For something important. Try not to die from shock.”
Adrian sighed loudly and dropped back against the pillows. “I was busy.”
“You’re always busy.”
“That’s because people enjoy my presence.”
“People also enjoy reality shows. Doesn’t mean they’re good.”
One of the girls laughed nervously.
Adrian pointed toward her immediately. “See? She appreciates me.”
Dennise picked up a neatly folded suit from the nearby chair and threw it directly at his face.
“You’re violent,” Adrian complained, pulling it off himself.
“You’re annoying. We all have struggles.”
Then her expression shifted slightly. More serious now.
“Williams is attending something tonight.”
That got Adrian’s attention immediately. He sat up properly this time.
“…What?”
Dennise stepped closer before lowering her voice.
“Nicholas mentioned it earlier. Some college event.”
Adrian blinked once. Then slowly smiled.
“Oh, that’s interesting.”
“I thought so too.”
Williams never attended random social events. Especially not college parties. Which meant there was only one possible reason.
“The girl,” Adrian said quietly.
Dennise nodded once. Neither of them said Jasmine’s name. They didn’t need to.
Adrian leaned back, thinking for a moment before grinning again. “We’re definitely going.”
Dennise pointed at him immediately. “You are not embarrassing me.”
“I don’t embarrass people.”
“You embarrass everyone.”
“That sounds exaggerated.”
“It’s not.”
Adrian laughed under his breath while running a hand through his messy hair.
For the first time all morning, he actually looked awake.
Because if Williams was personally stepping into the situation now… then things were escalating. And Adrian loved chaos.
Dennise started walking toward the door again. “Be downstairs in ten minutes,” she said.
Adrian watched her leave before calling after her— “You’re becoming my favorite sibling!”
“You say that whenever you need something,” she replied without turning.
“That doesn’t make it less true!”
The door closed behind her.
The room fell quiet again.
One of the girls looked at him curiously. “Who exactly is Williams?”
Adrian paused for a second. Then smiled faintly. “My brother.”
“That doesn’t explain anything.”
“It explains enough.”
There was something in his tone now that hadn’t been there earlier. Adrian knew there were limits around Williams.
The second girl tilted her head. “So what’s so special about tonight?”
Adrian stood up slowly and grabbed the suit Dennise had thrown at him. His grin returned almost immediately.
“I don’t know yet,” he admitted.
Then he glanced toward the window overlooking the city below.
“But whenever my brother starts personally involving himself in something…” His smile sharpened slightly.
“…people’s lives usually change.”
