Chapter 57 – Victor’s Return
****Isabelle’s POV****
Location: East Side Industrial District, Abandoned Warehouse
The call came in at dawn.
Isabelle’s hands trembled as she gripped the wheel, her foot pressing the gas pedal harder than necessary. The streets blurred past, her mind racing even faster than the car. All she heard were the words that shattered everything:
“It’s Luca. He’s dead.”
No explanation. No hesitation. Just that brutal truth. And then the line had gone dead, leaving her with a silence more deafening than a scream.
She didn’t remember parking. Didn’t remember stumbling past the line of yellow tape or flashing red lights of patrol cars. All she remembered was the cold, copper taste of dread rising in her throat as she crossed the threshold of the darkened warehouse.
