CHAPTER 7
Past:
Tami opened her eyes as her phone rang. She turned to see Jeff beside her, they were both clothed meaning they had been too tired and drunk, the previous night, to get to s*x. She sighed as she reached for the phone.
“Hello.” she asked into phone
“Tamara” She cringed as she heard her boss's voice, she slowly stood up from the bed and made her way to the bathroom.
“Sir?” She replied into the phone
“I have been awaiting your report for the past week Rashidi, it’s not forthcoming. Why?”
“It’s not coming because there is nothing to report about, the guy is an innocent photographer." Tami whispered knowing somewhere in her mind that what she just said may be untrue. "This case feels like a waste of my time.”
“Are you absolutely sure?” Her boss asked “Our inside man assured us about this lead.”
“Well your inside man was bloody wrong,” Tami replied “I will send the reports to you by next week but for now I am going to enjoy what's left of my vacation Sir”
“Very well, see you next week” He said from the other line and she cut the call.
Tami sighed running her hand through her hair while the other was on her hip. She paced around for some time with the same bodily position, deep down she hoped she was right about him, that he was not a criminal, but a different part of her for some obscene reason knew he was. She pushed open the door of the bathroom slightly hoping not to make any noise and silently made her way back to the bed.
“Good morning.” Jeff whispered as she lay beside him.
“Morning” She replied looking up at him. “Although I think it’s almost noon.”
Jeff chuckled.
“Jeff” They both turned at the loud call and behold by the door way stood Jeff's blonde girlfriend with a suitcase in hand and a shocked and angry expression on her face. BASTARD!!!”She screamed pulling her suitcase with her as she turned to leave.
“I will be right back.” Jeff said to Tami, he rushed of the bed and turned to her “Please don’t leave.”
Tami nodded and watched him run towards his girlfriend, she was not a bad person but for some reason it was funny to her seeing him look s**t ass scared. It was a funny sight. It took some time but he finally came back.
“What happened?” Tammy asked sitting up on the bed
Jeff leaned on the door with an indifferent look on his face. “She told me to say you were just fling" He made his way to the bed and replied as he sat on the bed “I said no and she broke up with me”
“Why did you say no?” Tami asked “You just met me, she is your girlfriend, why would you say no.”
“It did not feel right.” He replied “And trust me I have done a lot of wrong things but I could not bring myself to say you were just a onetime thing.” Running his hands through his hair he continued “And for the first time in a long time, I feel genuinely normal.”
Tami crawled to him and wrapped her hands around him from the back. Something about you just has me feeling hooked, she thought.
“f**k” Jeff muttered and that voiced out exactly how Tami felt.
☆☆☆
Present:
Jeff opened his eyes, another night spent without Tami in his arms felt like hell. He truly missed her, her smile, her laugh, her warmth, days without felt like a plague. He sighed as he rubbed her side of the bed with his hands.
For three years he had become used to waking up to a small form on his bed clutching unto him. The times when she was not in bed, she was taking a shower and he was used to joining her. He was tempted to stand up and open the bathroom and just hop she would be there but he knew she wasn’t. A week had gone by and now h was sure that Tami was missing and it was not a sick joke or a terrible nightmare. It was his reality but he intended to change that soon.

Past:
Jeff laughed as Tami danced around his room. She was jumping for joy as she finally won him in a game of chess. It had been three days since the issue with Jeff's girlfriend and in the next one week their vacation would be over. They however lived in the same city although Jeff conducted business mostly in Miami he resided in New York City so this, what they had begun on a Cuban beach would continue on American soil.
Tami came to sit with him again. “I almost forgot” She put her hands in her shorts pocket and pulled out a blunt. “I brought us a gift”
“Weed?” Jeff asked as he took the blunt from her. He knew why he was so into her, she was the ying to his yang, a missing piece that fit him so well.
“Weed” She smiled “The way I acquired this I assure you is very funny.” She began her story “So I helped this girl beat up a guy who groped her and well she was high and she gave me this as a thank you gift.” Tami chuckled as she looked the blunt “Truthfully don’t remember the last time I smoked this s**t. I don’t remember the last time I felt this way, felt overjoyed and free.”
Jeff laughed “Are you getting emotional over weed, we have not smoked yet.”
Tami rolled her eyes “Fine I'll smoke it on my own” She stood up from the chair but Jeff grabbed her by her shirt and pulled her back on him. He hugged her kissing her shoulders as he took the joint from her fingers. He reached for the lighter and lit up the joint.
Tammy sat up and turned to him as she watched him enjoy himself, he handed her the joint and she followed suit, smoking her fill before she handed it back to him. It was not something that she usually did but with Jeff nothing she did was usual. Biting her lip, her hands found his belt and undid its hook. Jeff rose a brow as he watched her pull down his zipper. He close his eyes letting out a puff of smoke as he finally felt her lips on his d**k.
“s**t Tami.” He groaned. This girl was going to be his end and he knew it. “Fuck.”

Present
Jeff sighed as he walked down the steps to his kitchen. The game this devil monkey was playing had long began to piss him off. It was the fourth day now and there were no leads, it was like Tami had vanished of the face of the earth. The warehouse was a dead end, her ring and bracelet had been there but in a box and well he had killed all the guards in a fit of anger so there was no one to question. He hated his anger, himself.
“Boss” Ling shouted running into the kitchen with his laptop in just his boxer shorts and a plain black tee. Klaus, Ling, Steve and a few other Inferos agents had practically started living with him. Everyone working day and night to find Tami “I think I found something that could lead us to Miss Tami.”
Jeff's eyes lit up “What is it?”
“You know how you gave us in the technical department to job to bug every top member of the syndicates house and phones.” Ling said
“Yes when I was suspicious about a mole.” Jeff said
“Well I just got sent this recording by tech guys down in Chicago. It’s Cain Montero, he is...”
“Principal of the Inferos boarding school, in North America” Jeff completed
“Here is the audio.” Ling hit a button on his laptop
“Like we spoke about two million dollars has been transferred to your account” spoke an unknown voice which had the exact same accent as the voice in the video Jeff was sent. The video which fried his phone after he watched it.
“Keep your money diablo mono. I don’t want it and have never wanted it my children, can I have them back” Cain voice sounded like his was about to cry
“Yes I just sent her back to you.” The unknown speaker replied
“What about my son?” Cain asked and the line went dead
“They took his children.” Jeff sighed as he pointed out the fact. The man was not a mole, just a desperate father. He surprised himself, since when did he begin to feel so compassionate, loosing Tami was taking its toll on him “They are hitting our weak points, get me Cain. The assassins are taking this up, full f*****g time.”
