Wow.. if that be the cause then I’ll have to take my leave” Dawson said as he rose on his feet to leave looking unfazed. My fathers face was stunned as he tried to pacify him by trying to say something but he waved him off as he walked to the door. “You know where to get me if you change your mind” He said, facing me as if I knew his whereabouts, but he certainly knew I’d be able to locate him with my father. But that was never going to happen. “You’re such a heartless person” My father roared spitting on me immediately Dawson shut the door. “I’m not” I said standing up from my kneeling posture. “If anyone is heartless it should be you, you don’t care about my happiness, all you care about is your business” I said trying to fight back the urge to cry. “I see you’ve grown wings, just wait till your precious sister joins your stupid mother” I hissed out loud. “I’ll make sure my sister lives” I replied back trying as much as possible to not look weak or let her words affect me even if inwardly it broke me. I’ve had enough of his hurtful words and all I wanted at that point was to go meet Blaire even if the smell from the room was no longer bearable. I was about to climb the stairs before my father dragged me by my hair to the ground. Matching me on my stomach as I let out a groan in utter agony and disbelief. Even though all this while he maltreated us he had never laid a finger on us. Just while I was trying to nourish the pain another fist landed this time on my face followed by another. He didn’t stop there as he pulled me by my neck and pinned me to the wall. Choking me while spit dropped out of my mouth to his hand. He looked infuriated at the sight of my spit in his hand as he slapped me across my cheeks. “You have 24 hours to make a decision, otherwise you’re moving out of my house with your sister…” He groaned in a hoarse voice as he hit me on my stomach again with his knee. “I house you, clothe you and all you do is disrespect me… He continued talking as he finally let my neck go while I coiled on the ground holding my stomach and face in pain. “The mortgage company is on my neck, you want us to live on the streets?, my company is on the verge of collapsing this offer means the world to me, if you make me lose this I’m going to kill you with my bare hands” He blurted out again but in all his ranting and rage my Blaire’s surgery wasn’t mentioned it was more like it meant nothing to him. His concern is his debt being paid and his company getting a collaboration with the Dawson manor’s. I felt weak as my thoughts were jumbled as I slowly succumbed to the pain and slept off or passed out I couldn’t tell. **************************************************** “Wake up you filthy little thing” I heard as water splashed on me with rough tappings. I wiped my face with my hands as I jumped on my feet restraining myself from the pain I felt standing up. “Your dying sister has been crying her lungs out I guess she must have died now it’s been an hour since I last heard her wails” my father said, sprinkling more water on me even though I had stood up. I didn’t wait for his berating as I rushed to the room to get Blaire. I met granny cleaning her up, hot tears rolled down my cheeks as I watched granny struggle with her wheelchair as she managed to clean Blaire. Granny (my paternal grandmother) who has been crippled right after birthing our father has been nothing but a sweet soul to us. But her condition didn’t permit her to save us from her son. “Come on in, come throw thewater out,” Granny instructed without turning back to look at me. I did as I was instructed, trying as much as possible to avoid looking at Blaire’s dying eyes. Her skin has degenerated a lot and she looked so pale. Like she was looking death in the eye. She looked at me with pleading eyes as she couldn’t talk any longer all she could do was moan and cry. I couldn’t watch my sister suffer to death, I couldn’t watch life sniff out of her. “I don’t think she’s going to survive it” Granny said under her breath as I rolled her out of the room. “She’s just going to be fine” I said unsure of my own words “She’s almost dead Claire can’t you see” granny said turning to look at my face I remained silent trying to think of the way forward to see my sister live again. “I don’t think any operation can save her life anymore she’s exhausted” Granny added as we got to her door. I wiped my tears with the back of my hands “she’s going to live” I said vehemently meaning every single word I said. Nothing is going to happen to Blaire, not when I’m alive. I promised to take care of her and protect her with my life. Now this is the test of my love and promise to her. She is getting all the medication she needs even if it means I’m losing my dreams for it. I ran out of the house leaving my granny by the door. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me without stopping and looking back as granny called. I don’t know where I’m going but I’m going to save my sister. The only place on my mind was Daisy's HOME OF LOVE. The place was too rugged to be called a place of love, it contains strippers to smokers, games, hideout for thieves, prostitutes and others. I stopped immediately and I got to Daisy’s door. A place I ran out of a year ago. Now I’m running back to it.
