"Who are you?"
Ren took a few steps back nervously.
What had his naive father finally taken into his house? He would get in trouble for bringing her. Maybe this girl is a monster who will destroy him.
"Oliver I like my charity"
Even though there were words that were considered good, the cold tone of voice and emotionless eyes had lost the warmth in those words.
It was as if she could hear the thoughts in his mind. He took a few steps back in fear.
"What do you want from my family?"
For the first time in his life, Ren showed a very serious face. Although he had been a reckless vagrant his entire life, his biggest weakness was his family.
Was this girl, whose origin is unknown, really what she seemed? His senses were constantly warning him.
"Be on your guard!"
The sound that echoed with every heartbeat seemed to remind him of that.
"what you meet is the most dangerous creature alive"
Reina's every soft step echoed in her mind.
"I won't hurt you or your family. I have to stay here for a while." There was a subtle loneliness in her voice. She looked tired, like an old man who had lived for years, not five years old.
Her eyes scanned the old hunting lodge.
"I'll be out of here when the time comes."
Sitting upright on the stool by the door, she brushed the invisible dust off her clothes. She stared soullessly at the bewildered man standing on the defensive. A one-month-old child's demeanor and actions had not destroyed the person she was in. This is how she always looked at life. Colorless and meaningless. Her only thought about life was to be strong, but he wanted to live a respectable life in his second life. This was what she wanted to see in her servants of uneasiness, glowing with respect and awe, instead of fearful eyes that despised him.
"Ren calm down and sit down, there are things I want to talk to you about"
She didn't even realize that she didn't even call him big brother, probably because of her mood rather than her demeanor.
"You're finally going to show your color, huh?"
Reina didn't care about Ren's forced arrogance. The resentment reflected in his eyes was something she had once had. The mocking criticisms made even by those she loved had hurt her soul, causing her rude demeanor to emerge.
"I have a job offer for you. Take the box I'm going to give to Lord William Wolden. Let him know that no one will see it except his son Norman Wolden. Make sure that the box is in Norman's hands directly. It's a good idea to give the letter before the box."
Ren laughed, completely forgetting his previous fear.
"Are they going to wish for a five-year-old boy, for Avarium's sake, what world do you live in? And how do you know these names?"
Reina laughed sarcastically.
"You think I'm a normal kid, Ren?"
The question had the effect of cold water on the man who had just relaxed.
"Aren't you tired of ridicule and criticism? Do you want to be labeled a useless man until you die? I promise you a respectable position and wealth."
Ren was silent for a while. Finally, the sharp silence was broken.
"What kind of work?"
Reina was relieved that they had finally come to the same issue. She expected it to bother him a little more.
However, her looks and age prevented him from achieving what he wanted.
"Some sort of company..."
He was silent for a while, as Ren was about to lose his patience, he spoke.
"The company will be called Catres and you will be the final and only representative. Your job is to interact only with the people I want, I will give you a commission from the money earned, of course you will be satisfied."
Ren asked curiously, raising an eyebrow.
"What will the company be about? What's in the box?"
Reina slowly told all the information. At the end of the speech, the man glowing with excitement was on fire with his passion for work.
When he took the box and the letter and left the house, he even hugged his father and said goodbye.
Oliver looked at the girl beside him with an innocent smile in strange surprise.
Could it even affect his son's heart?
She should have been blessed.
