Heat is no joke. I feel like I'm somewhere between being on fire and being stabbed in the stomach. I begged Alec not to leave me but he said my father had told him to come to his office. While he was gone my mom came and put me in an ice bath. "It feels better than you'd think," she said when I pleaded with her to not put me in a bathtub full of ice. To my surprise she was right. The ice dulled the fever and pain.
