Chapter 28: Daniel POV When I woke up the morning after marking I felt as if I was on a high I never wanted to come down from. My mate was staring at me with her beautiful eyes. I pulled her in close to my body and enjoyed her body heat. We were starting to kiss when we were interrupted. My mother updated us on what was going on with the hunters and Phillip. Jeanie was asked to give her input on Phillip's fate. To my surprise she said she wanted to hear what Martin Matthews had to say first. As we set the table for lunch we heard the pickup truck arrive. Lily tried to open the door but I stopped her. Then her mate stopped me. "They are my family. Let me test them first." I nodded. For a human he was shaping up.
