Chapter Nine: Deep Love

221 Words
Their love became deeper. He didn’t just like her appearance; he liked her dreams. Every night, he asked about her school, her mom, and little William. “What does a Health Informatics Officer do? Explain it to me again,” he asked one night at his studio. Vivian laughed. “We manage health data so doctors can make better decisions and patients can receive better care. We make sure important information doesn’t get lost in the system.” He smiled. “Then you’ll help save lives, and I’ll make the world dance. We’ll both be great, My Officer.” He started calling her My Officer. It became his favorite nickname for her. He often showed affection by holding her hands, fixing her braids, and giving her gentle forehead kisses. “Do you know why I’m so clingy?” he asked one night. “Why?” “Because for three years, I watched you from my phone screen. You liked my videos when nobody was watching me. You were one of the people who kept supporting me. Now that I have you in real life, I’m scared you’ll disappear back into my phone.” Vivian hugged him. “I won’t disappear.” “Promise?” “Promise.” He held her tightly, as though he never wanted to let the moment end.
