Thunder boomed outside, making me jump. Three days had passed since I’d seen the wolf with the glowing green eyes. Three days since I realized this house wasn’t just old. It was hiding something. Rain hammered against the windows like it was trying to get in. I’d spent the afternoon boarding up broken panes, but water still leaked through, forming little puddles on the floor.
