450 Words
After a few days, I got myself together and everything else returned to normal. But my parents still felt guilty they didn't say it but I knew because they were giving me way too many gifts in just 5 days I no longer had space in my closet. I decided that I needed to talk to them. After gifting me another set of jewelry I finally told them that they didn't have to feel guilty and that I was okay and that they didn't have to worry. My mom suddenly burst into tears apologizing repeatedly as my dad consoled her and I pulled them both into a hug and I left them so that my mom could be able to put herself together. ‎ After a few days on a random Tuesday, there was a soft knock on the door. A maid came to us and reported that someone who claimed to be the Davis family's daughter. I felt a flash of hope that it could really be mom and dad's daughter and I told the maid to let her in and I immediately ran to mom and dad who were relaxing upstairs to tell them about the news, they dropped everything and practically sprinted downstairs. ‎ As we got down the stairs we noticed a slender figure standing and looking out of place. My parents immediately ran downstairs and immediately she turned her head I noticed the striking resemblance to mom and when she smiled she had the same dimple on her left cheek just like dad's. My mom looked at the girl for a while afraid to touch her as if she were delicate porcelain. Then Mom started crying, and Dad quickly rushed over to comfort her while holding back his own tears. ‎ After a while, they got themselves together and everyone sat down at the table to decide the next course of action. As we talked we found out that her name was Emily and when she had been staying with an old couple that adopted her from an orphanage but she had always been curious about her real origin and when she asked her foster parents they told her that she was the daughter of the Davis group but she didn't want to leave her parents alone so she decided that she didn't need any other thing but her parents who loved her to bits. But her parents died a month ago in a car crash while she was attending lectures, and the doctor who was in charge told her that her parents' last wish was for her to meet her biological parents at least once, after she finished speaking she stood up to leave.
