Chapter 4

"So you're the bastard named Roman?" An old man's heavy voice sounded from the other end of the phone. His tone of voice was full of boiling anger. "Who are you talking to?" Roman replied casually. "I am Reginald. Cedric's father," the man hissed. "You think you can take ten percent shares of my company, fire my son, and just walk away? You woke up the wrong lion, young man. Right now, ten hitmen are heading to your ex-girlfriend Giselle's location. Let's see how hard you beg me later." Roman fell silent for a moment hearing that threat. A second later, a loud, cold laugh came out of his mouth, echoing through the empty harbor. "You're laughing at me, bastard?!" Reginald roared from the other end of the phone. "Ten hitmen are heading to Giselle's place right now. Her life is in my hands!" "Then? Just kill her," Roman answered casually. Reginald was stunned. The sound of his heavy breathing was clearly heard. "You... you think I'm bluffing?" "Listen, old Reginald," Roman interrupted, his voice turning sharp and deadly. "That woman is trash that I've already thrown away. If you want to bother cleaning her up for me, go right ahead. Chop up her body and throw it into the sea. I couldn't care less." "You crazy bastard—" "But your threat just now is your biggest mistake," Roman interrupted again. His eyes flashed with suppressed anger. "You think your Orion Corp is untouchable? Prepare your coffin tonight, Reginald. Tomorrow morning, I will flatten your company to the ground." Roman hung up the phone. He didn't block the number, letting the old man die in fear tonight. Promptly at eight o'clock at night, the doorbell of The Zenith Penthouse rang. Roman pressed the automatic unlock button. The double doors made of teak wood opened. Eleanor stood there. The woman obeyed his command perfectly. She wore a tight black silk dress with a low back slit. Her blonde hair was left loose. She held a leather folder with slightly trembling hands. "Come in," Roman ordered from the sofa. In his hand was a glass of whiskey. Eleanor stepped inside. Her high heels clicked on the marble floor. She placed the leather folder on the glass table in front of Roman. "These are the transfer documents for fifteen percent of Whitmore Group's shares," Eleanor said softly. Her arrogant tone was completely gone. "You're now the second largest shareholder." Roman didn't even glance at the documents. He put down his whiskey glass, then looked Eleanor up and down. "Nice dress. Come here," Roman said, patting the empty space next to him. Eleanor hesitated for a moment, her face flushing crimson. But her instinct forced the woman to obey. She sat next to Roman. Without beating around the bush, Roman pulled Eleanor's waist until the woman fell onto his lap. Eleanor gasped, her hands reflexively clutching Roman's shirt. The masculine scent and alcohol immediately filled her sense of smell. "You smell nice, Miss Whitmore," Roman whispered, his hand tracing Eleanor's smooth thigh behind the dress slit. "I-I'm keeping my promise, Roman," Eleanor's voice trembled. She had never been this close to any man, yet Roman's touch actually made her go weak. "I'm yours tonight." "Good. Prove it to me," Roman whispered, leaning down to kiss the woman's neck. Ding Dong! The doorbell rang loudly and repeatedly, ruining the atmosphere. Roman frowned in annoyance. He pressed the intercom screen on the table. The screen showed the security camera in front of the penthouse door. On the screen, Giselle could be seen. Her red dress was torn, her face bruised, and she was crying hysterically while pounding on the door. "Roman! Open the door! Help me!" Giselle screamed from the screen. "Reginald's men are chasing me! They want to kill me, Roman! Help me!" Eleanor stared at the screen, then looked at Roman in confusion. "Your ex-girlfriend? Should I call security to chase her away?" Roman smiled cynically. He stroked Eleanor's hair, then stared at the intercom screen with an ice-cold gaze. Right at that moment, the blue system screen appeared in front of his face. [New Mission: The Traitor's Despair] [Target: Destroy Giselle's remaining pride in front of Eleanor, and make her your lowest servant.] [Time Limit: 1 Hour.] [Reward: $200 Million Cash + Reginald Orion's Corruption Data.] "No need to call security," Roman said casually. He pressed the door open button from the intercom. "Let that stray dog in. I want to see how low she can crawl tonight." The double doors made of teak wood swung wide open. Giselle crawled inside with ragged breaths. Her expensive red dress was torn at the shoulder, her knees were scraped, and her makeup was smeared by tears. As soon as she entered, she hurriedly closed the door and locked it from the inside, as if a demon were chasing her. When she turned around, her eyes immediately fixed on the sofa in the middle of the room. Giselle's steps stopped. Her eyes widened in disbelief. There, Roman sat casually holding a glass of whiskey. And what made Giselle nearly stop breathing, Eleanor Whitmore—the woman who often graced business magazines as the most beautiful and powerful CEO in Valoria—now sat prettily on Roman's lap. Eleanor's arm was wrapped around Roman's neck, and the man's suit draped over part of Eleanor's exposed shoulders. "R-Roman? W-What happened? Why is President Whitmore..." Giselle stammered, her mind in complete disarray. "You dropped blood on my expensive carpet, Giselle," Roman interrupted flatly. He sipped his whiskey expressionlessly. Giselle snapped out of her shock. She immediately threw herself to her knees in front of the glass table. "Roman, please help me! I'm begging you, help me!" Giselle wailed hysterically. "Reginald's men are chasing me! They're armed! Cedric threw me out of his car when we were being chased. That bastard left me just like that to die!" "And?" Roman asked coldly. Giselle looked up, tears flooding her face. "Let me hide here! They won't dare enter The Zenith. You have money now, right? Please pay them off to let me go, Roman! I promise I'll come back to you. I'll do anything!" Eleanor, who was on Roman's lap, smiled cynically. She looked at Giselle with a condescending gaze. "So this is your ex-girlfriend who threw you away yesterday for a fifty thousand dollar cheap bag?" Eleanor mocked sharply. "Your taste used to be terrible, Roman." Giselle glared at Eleanor. "Shut your mouth! You don't know anything!" Clang!
