Roxance just parked in the parking lot of the amusement park, but she didn’t see Cayden, so, she texted.
“Hey, where are you? I just arrived”
“Just come in” Cayden replied
“Ok”
So, she entered the amusement park. Inside, Kelvin and Hunter were a whirlwind of activity near the Carousel. Kelvin was frantically untangling a massive string of battery-operated lights while Hunter arranged a small table for two, complete with a single candle (LED for safety) and two cups of her favorite Chardonnay wine that Eleanor just placed on the table.
They were working against the clock, communicating in frantic whispers and exaggerated hand gestures. The silent comedy peaks when Max nearly tips over a hidden speaker wire saved only by Eleanor’s quick reflexes.
Roxance was commenting on how creepy the park was when she stops short. The path ahead was outlined by a gentle glow. The Vintage Carousel, typically bright and loud was now bathed in the warm soft lights, hundred, of fairy lights strung across it canopy. The near fountain was softly illuminated with pre-set blue lighting. A soft romantic acoustic version of one of Roxance’s favorite songs suddenly starts playing from the hidden speakers. Roxance looks around confused and enchanted.
“Did Cayden do all this?” she whispered
Looking ahead toward the fountain, she saw Cayden standing awkwardly by the small decorated table. Roxance reaches Cayden, a huge smile on her face. The only sound was their song and gentle trickle of the fountain water. Cayden’s hands shaking slightly, explains that he had to go above and beyond because she deserves a grand gesture. He poured the wine and then produced three custom-made, giant foam tickets designed like Vintage ride passes.
The first one reads: Happy Birthday Roxy.
The second one reads: Admission: Roxance & Caden’s official first date.
The third one reads: Destination: Us (will you be my girlfriend?)
He looked her in the eye, his sincerity shinning, through the dim light.
“So, what do you say?”
Roxance laughs a joyous sound that fill the park and says,
“Of course, I will”
The moment she agreed, their friends jumped out, cheering wildly and waving a few sparklers
“So, this was what you guys were busy with?” she asked, on seeing them
“Hope, you aren’t angry anymore?” Max asked
“No, I’m not” Roxy replied
“Little sis, we prepared your favorite dishes, why don’t we all have dinner together?” Brax asked
“Yeah, that’s a good idea” Roxy replied
“Finally! My battery is 1%” Eleanor said, holding her stomach
Garv added two other small tables to that one that was set for Cayden and Roxance while Hunter served the dishes: Beef Stew, Braised Venison, Steak Diane and Chicken Marsala.
“We can’t have all these delicious dishes with just one wine” Max said, bringing out three more wines; Pinot Noir, Merlot and Sparkling Rose’.
“Let’s eat and drink till we drop!!” Garv added
“Yay!!!”
