Chapter 21

PROM DAY The ballroom of the hotel had been transformed so completely that it barely resembled the formal conference hall it usually was. Tall double doors opened into a vast space crowned by glittering crystal chandeliers that spilled warm golden light across the room. The polished marble floor reflected the glow like a mirror, making the entire hall seem brighter and larger than it truly was. Along the high cream-colored walls, elegant gold-trimmed panels framed long velvet curtains that fell from ceiling to floor, giving the room a regal atmosphere. At the center of the hall lay the dance floor—wide, smooth, and shining under soft rotating lights that shifted slowly between shades of violet, blue, and silver. Above it hung delicate strands of fairy lights, draped carefully from one side of the room to the other, forming a glowing canopy that made the dance floor feel almost magical. Round banquet tables filled the edges of the ballroom, each covered with crisp white cloths and tied with satin chair ribbons that matched the prom’s theme colors. At the center of every table stood a tall glass centerpiece filled with floating candles and pale roses, their gentle light flickering softly as students passed by. Toward the far end of the hall, a decorated stage had been set up for the DJ. Behind it, a glowing backdrop spelled out the prom theme in elegant letters, while colored lights slowly moved across the walls and ceiling, adding energy to the otherwise graceful setting. Nearby, the refreshment tables stretched in a long line, covered with sparkling trays of drinks, desserts, and neatly arranged glasses. Waitstaff moved quietly in the background, ensuring everything remained perfect for the evening. Above the entrance hung a large banner welcoming the students, its silver letters catching the chandelier light. For the teenagers arriving in elegant gowns and sharp suits, the hotel ballroom felt like stepping into a scene from a movie—an unforgettable place where laughter, music, and dancing would turn an ordinary night into one of the most memorable moments of their high school years. Just then Cayden and his friends walked in looking handsome in their different color of suits. Roxance planning to make heads walked in the tall doors of the ballroom opened, and for a brief moment the hum of conversation softened as a girl stepped inside. She moved with quiet confidence, her presence drawing the eye without her needing to say a word. Her gown was a long black evening dress that flowed smoothly to the floor, its fabric catching the soft glow of the chandeliers above. The dress fit her figure gracefully, the clean lines and elegant tailoring giving her silhouette a striking, timeless look. The back of the gown dipped low in a tasteful design, adding a touch of sophistication that suited the glamour of the prom night. Gold jewelry shimmered softly against her skin—a delicate necklace resting at her collarbone, slender bracelets glinting at her wrist, and small earrings that caught the light each time she turned her head. On her feet were elegant gold heels that clicked gently against the polished floor as she walked. Her hair had been carefully styled for the evening, falling neatly around her shoulders and framing her face. When the chandelier light touched it, it gave off a soft glow that seemed to follow her as she crossed the room. Students nearby paused for a moment, some whispering to one another, others simply watching her pass. It wasn’t only the dress or the jewelry that made her stand out—it was the calm confidence with which she carried herself, as though she knew this night would be one she would remember for years. As she stepped fully into the hall, the music swelled and the lights shimmered across the dance floor, welcoming her into the magic of the evening. “Bro, your girlfriend is a goddess” Hunter said to Cayden who was unable to get his eyes of Roxance “That’s my little sis!” Garv said feeling so proud “I can’t take my eyes of her” Cayden said She walked towards them and flashed a charming smile “My little sis is looking awesome!” Kelvin exclaimed “Thanks, big bro” At a corner of the Hall “At least I get to taste you, before disposing you” Drew said staring at Roxance
