“Jack,” he heard call, waking up. “The Sun has finally hidden away. Time to go.” Jack and Sprinkle lazily stirred back into conscience. They slowly stood up, yawning together, seeing that Elizabeth had packed all her stuff. The pot was gone, and the firewood was wet and charred, having been put out. Jack walked on to follow her. Making the turn, he saw Elizabeth at the cave’s exit. She nodded at the sight of them and got moving, so Jack and Sprinkle had to jog a bit to catch up. Within moments, they were outside, walking on the rocky platform. The visibility provided by the moon was good enough to register the height of the mountain face.
