Grace pov
It’s been a week since I lived with Steven and if I say is perfect you will think I
exaggerate. But is true, I guess maybe is the beginning but until now everything has worked fine. Today is our day off. We still any time we can we take our days off the same day to spend them doing things together. My work hours are still not controlling, I see him mostly at night when I’m gone. When I work nights I don’t see him at all because when I return home he is working. So I guess we see each other more on our days off. And every time we make them count.
He is in the kitchen making breakfast. Then we will go to the park for a walk and maybe grab a coffee. For lunch we will go to his parents, they haven’t seen us for a long time too and for the rest of the day, we haven’t said anything yet. We will see how the day will go. Janet after work will see her man so she of the table to see her today. Janet's life has changed so much in this town too. She is freer, she smiles more and she finds a man after so many years. Because of her work, she never dates much. My parents were very demanding of the employees. They still are and are one of the reasons that Janet couldn’t work for them anymore. She has patiently waited all these years to leave from there and she makes her rebellion too.
But I can’t help but wonder what they doing. Besides everything that happened, they are still my parents. From what I read my dad’s company is still the most successful in the country and my mom recently won a very big case. So I guess their life goes as always.
“You like it, baby?” Steven asked me about his breakfast
“You know I like everything you cook. Especially when is for me” I say and I smile at him. He comes closer and he hugs me
“I want to eat all of it and then I am ready to spend all day with you” he kisses my cheek. I swallow the food and I turn to him.
“Me too honey. I miss spending time together” I pass my hands on his shoulders
“All alone,” I say and I wink at him. He laughs turning his head to the ceiling
“I like that” he kissed me
“I live for that “ I smile. We finish breakfast and I help to clean the dishes.
“Ready?” He asks
“Always for you,” I say and he hugs me from my waist
“I know I sound cheesy all the time. But I’m so f*****g lucky that I have you” I cup his face and I kiss him.
“I’m the lucky one. You changed everything I knew. You show me that with simple things you can be happy. I have you and I don’t want anything else. Just you be with me. Just I want you to be ok” I say and I mean it. I will do any time for Steven, his family, and his son. They are my world and I want to be ok.
“I’m ok as long you are with me,” he says and he kisses me.
“I love you so much, Steven. You and all the people in your life”
“They love you too baby. You change my world too. You make me feel again, breathe and they will forever be grateful for that” I hug him, and my world stops. I wish that time would stop right here right now.
“Come on let’s go,” he says and he takes my hand. We walk to the park and we walk around. We sit at the small coffee shop and we start talking and laughing. These are the most beautiful moments of my life. I wouldn’t change anything. We finish our coffee and we go to his parent's house. Jared and Piper they always happy to see and so am I.
“How are you, sweetie?”
“I’m good Piper. Always feel good to spend time with all of you.”
“We feel the same sweetheart. You are already part of the family”
“Thank you,” I say and I walk with her in the kitchen to help her with the food.
“Hi, honey. How are you?” Jared asks as she enters the kitchen and he gives her a hug
“I’m good. You?” I ask and he gives a kiss to his wife. They are so cute. My parents barely talk to each other.
“I’m great. I have my wife and my kids around me. I’m a happy old man” he says and he looks at me. I am so happy that they think of me as their kid.
“Where is Steven?” Piper asks
“He is helping me with the car. He finished, he will be soon inside.”
“Aiden called. They will be here soon too”
“Good. I can't wait to see my grandchildren” she says and she looks at me
“Talking for grandchildren”
“Piper,” Jared says warning
“It’s fine Jared. Grace is our family”
“What is it? “ I ask
“You and Steven think about kids?” She asks and I look at her suprised
“Mom,” Steven says and walking inside
“Please Mom is not the time,” Steven says
“I just have a question,” she says innocently. I know she means well but we haven’t talk between us yet
“Mom. I and Grace haven’t talked about that yet. So please don’t push us”
“I not. Sorry. I just want to see kids from both of you.”
“It’s fine Piper. But I can tell you one thing” I say and I look at Steven
“I will be happy someday to have kids with Steven. But as Steven said we haven’t talked about when”
“That’s fine by me,” she says and we continue with the food.
After a few minutes, the rest came I and the other girls finished the food while Piper and Jared played with their grandchildren.
“They are excited about you and Steven. We all are actually” Becca said and Elizabeth agreed.
“No happier than I am,” I say and they laugh
“You look happy. Your all face glowing” Elizabeth said and I smiled.
“Well, it helps that all of you expect me. I appreciate that”
“Don’t be silly Grace. We are happy that Steven finds a great girl like you.” Elizabeth said
“He was miserable.” I look at her
“Not because of Lisa. Don’t get me wrong. He was getting over Lisa. But Steven was always a relationship type and after Lisa, he waited for the one that would make him live again you know” I nod
“We have set him up on a lot of dates but he wanted to start something with the girl that makes him feel like that,” Elizabeth said and Becca continued
“That’s what she wants to say is that we are happy that the girl that makes him feel like that is you” I smile
“Thanks. From the beginning all of you make me feel welcome so thank you. Steven means so much to me too. He makes me see things differently. So I guess we find each other” We continued talking until the food was ready. I was ready to go to call them but this time Steven wall in the kitchen.
“Everything ready? Your husbands hungry”
“Now now. Everything is ready. Jesus. Elizabeth comes to set the table” Becca said and they leave the kitchen. I’m alone with Steven. I finished the salads and I felt Steven hugging me from behind
“Are you ok?” He asks
“Yeah. Why?”
“You are all day in here”
“I’m not all day. Just a few hours. And I had to help the girls. Your mom wanted to play with the kids”
“Sorry. I just missed you” he said and he kissed my neck
“Steven stop it. Not here” I say and I pull myself away but he holds me there
“I love you,” he says sweetly
“I love you too baby but I have to finish here. We can continue home” I say and finally, I managed to get out.
“Home,” he says warning and he leaves. I shake my head smiling. What I'm going to do with this man?
