"We just got tipped off," Dmitri said, bursting through my office door with an urgency that made me look up from the broken glass I was still contemplating having cleaned up. "Someone's been purchasing slaves from one of Ramon's secret ports, impersonating his second-in-command."
The words hit me like a physical blow. I stared at him, processing the implications as Tommy shifted uncomfortably in his chair and Sloane moved protectively closer to him.
"This has to be the person who's been stealing Ramon's shipments," I said slowly. "The mysterious buyer he's been looking for."
