Chapter 26 Damien’s POV Marcus opened the door before I could knock. He stepped aside without a word and let me in. His place was quiet, the lights low, the city visible through the wide windows behind him. I walked in, set my keys on the side table, and stood there for a moment, unsure what to do with the restlessness still sitting under my skin. Marcus closed the door and walked past me toward the kitchen. He opened a cabinet, pulled out a bottle of whiskey, and poured two glasses without asking. “You look like you need this more than water,” he said, holding one out to me. I took it. The glass felt solid in my hand. I needed something strong enough to dull the edges, something that might push Elena out of my head for even a short while. I drank.
