Visit To Her Parents

Chapter 4 Elena’s POV The car moved through the dark streets. Damien’s hand stayed on my plush thigh, his fingers digging in possessively as he muttered, “You’re mine now.” The promise he had whispered earlier still hung heavy in the air. My body was on fire. My full breasts rose and fell quickly. Heat pooled between my legs. I was aching for him. But Damien suddenly leaned forward and spoke to the driver. “Change of plans. Take us to Oakwood Cottage. Elena’s parents’ house.” I turned to him, surprised. “Tonight?” He nodded, his hand still gripping my thigh. “Yes. Tonight. No more delays. We tell them the news. We make this real. One night. One family.” The driver turned the car smoothly toward my old neighborhood. I felt a fresh wave of guilt wash over me. My parents had no idea what was really happening. They thought this was a genuine, sudden love story. I hated lying to them. Damien’s POV Elena looked tense beside me. Her curvy body was warm under my hand. I could feel her soft thigh trembling slightly. She was nervous about telling her parents. I squeezed her thigh gently. This was necessary. My father wanted proof. We had to sell the story tonight. Elena’s POV We pulled up to Oakwood Cottage twenty minutes later. The modest two-story house had warm lights glowing from the windows. The driver opened the door for us. Damien stepped out first and offered me his hand. His arm wrapped protectively around my waist as we walked up the path. His fingers pressed into my soft hip. Mom opened the door before we could knock. Her eyes widened when she saw us. “Elena? And… Mr. Kane? At this hour?” Dad appeared behind her. Both of them looked stunned. “Come in, come in,” Mom said quickly, ushering us inside. The living room smelled like fresh coffee and the apple pie she always baked when nervous. “Sit down, sit down. I just took an apple pie out of the oven. Let me get you both some coffee and a slice. You look like you need it after a long day.” We sat on the old couch. Damien’s arm stayed around my shoulders. His thumb stroked my soft upper arm. Mom brought warm slices of apple pie and two mugs of coffee. The sweet cinnamon smell filled the room. Damien took a bite and his eyes lit up. “This is delicious, Mrs. Voss,” he said sincerely. “Best apple pie I’ve had in years. Thank you.” Mom beamed. “Thank you, Mr. Kane. It’s an old family recipe. I’m glad you like it.” We ate together. The warm pie and coffee helped ease some of the tension. Damien complimented the meal again. “The cinnamon is perfect. Really comforting after a long day.” Mom smiled proudly. “I’m happy you enjoyed it. So tell us… what brings you both here tonight?” I took a deep breath. “Mom, Dad… Damien and I are engaged.” Silence filled the room. Mom’s hand flew to her mouth. “Engaged? All of a sudden after all these years?” Dad leaned forward, frowning. “You’ve been working for him for four years, Elena. And now marriage? Just like that?” They were happy but worried. Mom reached for my hand. “Sweetheart, we’re thrilled if you’re happy. But this is so sudden. Are you sure? Marriage is serious. You’ve seen how he lives… the papers, the parties…” Damien’s POV I spoke calmly. “I know my reputation. But Elena changed everything. She knows me better than anyone. She’s the only woman who has ever truly seen me. I want to build a life with her.” I meant the words more than I expected. Elena’s soft body beside me felt right. This was becoming more than a contract. Elena’s POV His words sounded so sincere. My heart ached. I hated hiding the contract from the people who had always been honest with me. Mom smiled warmly but her eyes were still concerned. “We just want you safe and loved, Elena. You deserve the world. Damien we’ve seen the stories. Can you promise you’ll take care of our daughter?” “I promise,” Damien said without hesitation. His hand rested on my soft waist. “She’s mine to protect now.” Dad studied us for a long moment. “Well if you’re both sure. We’ll support you. But don’t rush. Take time to be certain.” The conversation continued for a while longer. Mom asked about wedding plans. Dad asked about my future now that I was no longer his secretary. We talked about how we fell in love, how Damien had finally seen me after four years. I answered carefully, feeling guilt twist deeper with every word. Every time Damien called me “darling” or touched my curves protectively, the guilt grew heavier. It felt like a warm family moment, but the secret weighed on me like a stone. After the long conversation, Mom stood up. “Elena, come help me in the kitchen for a moment, dear. I want to talk to you alone.” Damien and Dad stayed in the living room for their own conversation. I followed Mom into the kitchen. She closed the door softly behind us. “Elena,” she said softly, her voice full of worry as she took both my hands. “He looks at you like he wants to devour you… is this really love, sweetheart? You can tell me the truth. We’re your parents. We only want what’s best for you. Is this what you truly want? You’ve always been so responsible, so careful. This feels very fast. Are you sure you’re not rushing into something because of his world, or the pressure? I saw how he looked at you tonight. It’s intense. But is it real love? The kind that lasts? The kind that will make you happy for the rest of your life?” Her words hung in the air. I froze, unsure how to answer. The guilt felt heavier than ever. Damien and Robert talk in the living room, leaving Elena struggling to respond as the weight of her secret presses down on her.
