ELENA'S POV I told you not to come in here. Julian sounded furious. I jolted, and the picture frame fell off my hand. Leaving the floor shattered with pieces of glass. I bent on my knees to begin picking up the pieces of glasses, as Julian walked down and stood in front of me, the smell of his cologne filled the air in the room. I swallowed hard empty air down my throat. I slowly raised my head to look at him. He was furious with his arm crossed, stamping his right leg against the ground. I thought I was clear Elena? He said, still looking furious. I was damn scared at the sound of his voice. All I could imagine was the punishment I'd face for disobeying the most important order, just on the second day of my stay. I allowed my defiant self to take over as I moved a bit closer to him. You're Roberto's son? I asked curiously. I gave you an instruction, and you went against it. Julian's voice cut in. You were not supposed to be here. I went to your room, you were not there. He said, as he turned and headed towards the door. The lawyer had arrived, Elena. Meet me downstairs in the conference room, in five minutes. He ordered. He left me standing in the middle of the library, the picture still in my hand, without giving a response to my question. Leaving behind the smell of his cologne, was that to console me? I rolled my eyes. It's always his audacity for me. Does he think he can control me or always snub me?" I said angrily as I tossed the image on his work table. I'll get Leo to sweep off the glass pieces. I left the library and rushed down the stairs to meet up with Julian and his lawyer. I wouldn't want to keep them waiting, to avoid Julian's wrath. “You must be Elena,” the voice sounded calm and collected. As I stepped into the meeting room. The lawyer was seated at the large mahogany table. He stood up to stretch his hand for a shake. I quietly walked towards him with a forced smile on my face to reciprocate the handshake. He also wore a nice cologne, which added to the seriousness around him. I see you've met Liam. Julian's voice sounded behind me as he stood in the doorway of the meeting room while engrossed in his phone. Probably replying to important business messages. He walked down to the chair next to Liam. Let's begin the process. I have a meeting to attend by 3pm. He said, stretching his left hand out for Liam to hand over the files with him. “Let me get that for you,” Liam offered as he brought out the pieces of paper attached together with a lot of written terms and conditions. I couldn't read them all, but I was struck by the sight of these sentences. “A Contract Marriage and A Personal Assistant,” for three years. I furrowed my face at the sight of it. I couldn't believe my eyes. Was Julian trying to make me go through the same reason he bought the debts from Silas? “A Contract Marriage and A Personal Assistant?...” I said out loud, as I stood up gently in awe. You want a contract marriage with me, Julian? Is this what this is all about? I looked at him… sad, with a shattered hope. The disappointment on my face couldn't be mistaken. I felt shot in the leg and I never expected this from Julian. But what do I expect? If you're not okay with the contract, you can let me know. You'll be thrown into the street and trust me, there are a lot of wolves out there waiting to feast on you. Julian said with a wicked smile on his face, as he threw a pen in front of me. You either sign and live with my conditions or you go out into the lion's den. Julian said, devoid of any emotions. Silas Vance's threats flashed back to me as I stirred at the pen in front of me, with a completely shattered heart, I took the pen and signed the paper. “Roberto Dominic,” does it ring a bell? Julian asked me as he leaned on the table between us just to get a closer look at my face. For the very first time, Julian looked at me straight in the eye and his look was fierce. Filled with silent pain and anger.
