Farewell

After I dropped the call I hurried back to the campus. I ran as fast as I could thinking I could make it on time.
“f**k! f**k! f**k!” I repeatedly shouted as I run
Then out of the blue a car honked at me which pissed me off. I waited for it to pass by then I removed my shoe then tossed it directly at the window but the car suddenly stopped so I ran the other way.
“And where do you think you’re going?” A familiar tone shouted
“Crap!” I reacted upon hearing her
I force myself to smile as I turn around. I waved my hand then said high pretending nothing happened.
“Get in the car” she pissedly ordered
I bow my head down as I slowly walk inside the car. Inside I saw this familiar looking woman looking at me as I took my seat. I don’t know why but I have this weird feeling that I’ve met her somewhere as if I knew her a long time ago.
“What on earth are you doing outside the campus?”
“If I remember correctly you have an election today” Elena seems pissed at me
“Settle down Elena. Can’t you see sense that he is running from something” the lady said with a calm soothing voice
“Yes Madam” Elena politely said
“How cute!” I said in a teasing manner which made her stare daggers at me so I shut my mouth
“Tell me why did you ditch the election?” Elene pissedly ask
Then the lady held her hand which made Elena immediately calm down.
“So Ramon, I’ve heard several stories about you. About how promising you are and how crappy your attitude is”
“I know you’re a bright kid so may I ask why did you ditch school?”
“Is it because the board is trying to hinder you from entering?” the lady ask
“Before I answer your question. May I know your reason why you want to know?” I ask
“Oh believe me I already know”
“I just want to hear what you know about what’s happening” the lady said
“So you’re with them?” I said with a smirk on my face
Elena then starts giggling which was awfully rude of her. With a simple look Elena immediately shuts her mouth. What a fast change of character. Who is this woman anyway? And why is Elena acting submissive to her?
“If you don’t mind me asking”
“Who is she by the way?” I curiously asked Elena
Elena was about to lecture me but the lady raises her hand in front of Elena’s face stopping her
“So someone haven’t read the handbook yes”
“Well I am actually the headmistress of Mythigale University, just so you know” She said
“Madam!” Elena seems worried
“Calm down Elena, Ramon won’t tell anyone about this”
“Right Ramon” She said with a nice smile on her face
I don’t know why but seeing her like that makes my senses all tingly. I quickly said yes then ask her what race is she
She smiled even bigger as she shakes her head as if she’s embarrassed or something
“Well I don’t tell this to anyone but I’ll make you an exception”
“Make sure you’re listening because I won’t repeat myself” She said then takes a deep breath
“I am actually a human. There I said it”
“It may sound degrading but that’s who I am. So please don’t tell anyone” She begged
“Is that the reason why you won’t reveal yourself to the students?”
“Are you afraid that if they knew you were human they would never treat you the same?”
“What a pathetic excuse” I rudely said
“Well I can’t blame them”
“Humans are treated as an outcast here. In fact I rarely meet someone from the forsaken realm”
“Just so you know everyone inside this vehicle comes from the forsaken realm and that includes you” She said as she points at me
“I see, and this forsaken realm you speak off is the village from where I came from right” I suspiciously ask
“Not just your village there are others” Elena pissedly said
The conversation continues as we reach the main gate. We are fast approaching the auditorium then I sense a great disturbance
“Stop the car!” I shouted which made the drive step on the breaks
As soon as the car stops I quickly step outside then run to the opposite side. Out of nowhere Elene teleported in front of me and she quickly restrained me.
“What’s the problem Ramon? You seemed frightened” the headmistress ask
“Go on without me! I can’t enter the venue, many lives are at stake” I said
“Don’t worry nothing bad will happen” She calmly said as she offers her hand
Is she deceiving me? So I will take all the blame afterwards. I don’t know why but my body is acting on its own so I reach for her hand. As soon as I grabbed her hand she pulled me back to my seat then we immediately went on our way. We walk straight in the hallway and I can sense that several people are staring daggers at me. As if my presence is not welcome
“Be brave nothing bad is going to happen I promise” the headmistress said
I don’t know why but her simple words make me feel at ease. As if I fully trust her
“What the hell is wrong with me?” I think out loud followed by a sigh
“Nothing is wrong with you”
“You are a magnificent student that’s why I am here to help you”
“Now go take that spot at the student council” She said as we take the stage
The board members were shocked, especially Procyon upon seeing me walking in front of the stage together with the head mistress. Vermillion and Teodosia seems delighted upon seeing me
“Looks like he made it” Vermillion relievely said
The headmistress approach Teodosia’s podium then grabs her microphone. She taps it several times to check if its on
“Greetings my dear students this is your headmistress speaking”
“I am here to announce that the election election for today is cancelled because of technical errors”
“The student I am beside with is also a candidate for the election” She said
“Pardon me Madam but can’t we just go back from the start?”
“The day is still young and I would be a waste if we let all the preparation gone to waste” Vermillion said
With the sudden change of events everyone in the auditorium went wild. Katarina then approaches me and give me a big hug
“Glad you made it” She said then she briefed me about what’s going to happen next.
After several minutes of preparing the podium I am going to use, I can’t help wondering why the curse isn't activated yet. I looked around the venue then I saw Emilia standing from the second floor with a joyful look on her face. Weird why is she smiling? If I were her I’d be pissed if my plans didn’t go as I planned it to be.
After the debate the students all went to the computer rooms to start voting
Vermillion, Teodosia, and I all went to the back to discuss of something
“I thought you weren’t coming? If I remember correctly you were too afraid to enter the campus” Vermillion teased
“I’m still afraid of this very moment. What if the curse is not lifted and because of my presence today everyone might die because of me” I worriedly said
Teodosia then gives me a tight hug then rubs the back of head saying
“There, there nothing bad is going to happen okay” in a comforting manner
“Now let’s head to the computer room so that we can vote” She said as she grabs our hands then take the lead
At the board’s meeting room the board members together with the headmistress and Elena were discussing the issue of evicting me from the list of presidential candidates.
At the computer lab the university’s paparazzi were all waiting for our arrival but Vermillion’s men escorted us in so we entered the lab smoothly. There were other students inside but they were afraid of the demons that were guarding us. We took a seat and started voting after that's done. I invented Vermillion and Teodosia at my place.
“What a day!” I said as I close the door on my way in
“Tell me about it!” Vermillion said as he sits down on the couch
Teodosia seems to be looking all over the place and check every room
“So this is what the top students’ rooms looks like”
“Nice!” She said
“Why? Aren’t all rooms supposed to look like this?” I reacted
“Dude you know this university is excellent in favoring the strong and oppressing the weak”
“Of Course our rooms are more luxurious compare to those who are below us” Vermillion said
“Enough small talk I want to know who you two voted” Vermillion eager said
