We’ve made it through every arch and at the end there is this light shining down into a stone tablet. I took a closer look and there were engravings craved looks like ancient writing of some sort
“What does it say?” I curiously ask Veronica as I made a detailed scan of the tablet
“Once you open your eyes to reality you can never close them shut”
“Nations will only prosper if minds are united as one and greed, dishonesty, hatred, and other pitfalls are gone”
“It is okay to stay in the dark if you can’t appreciate the light, we all have our desires you just need to be true” Veronica said
“Why did you bring me here? And what is the reason why I need to stay away from the demon lord?”
“If someone is suspicious that is that shadow dude” I said
“You didn’t get it did you?”
“The demon clan will do whatever it takes just to have the advantage”
“Basing from the scriptures those that are greedy will the be future’s pitfall”
“Better cut it of from the roots or suffer later” Veronica said
“But you can’t judge someone because they acted like that?”
“The great war is over a century ago and one or two generations have passed if I am not mistaking, surely everyone have change” I said
“Suite yourself”
“I did told you to stay away from them but you won’t listen” Veronica seems pissed
“Don’t worry about me I know what I am doing” I confidently said
“If you don’t mind me asking why are you awfully concerned about the future if you prefer to live in solitude?”
“If I were you I won’t concern myself with such actions” I said
“Even if I don’t want myself to get involved I am still part of this endeavour”
“Just like the demon lord I am also a god”
“I am the goddess of wisdom know as Veronica the descendant of the Fall Angel Azazel” Veronica said
“Sucks to be a gods” I said then giggled
“But you’re one of us”
“Those eyes of yours resembles the mark of the ascended”
“Come I’ll show you something” Veronica said then we hurried back upstairs
With a move of her hand a book then flew right straight into her hand
“This is the list of all the legendary marks bestowed upon the gods to their worthy successors”
“Some posses the marks the moment they were born while some unlocks it because they acquire the potential of being a god” Veronica said as she scans the pages
She then finds the page with the mark of the ascended but the moment I revealed my eyes it was not the same. She rescans the entire book but the mark inside my eyes was nowhere to be seen. Then something strike my mind
“Say Veronica, is it possible to have two marks?” I ask
“What do you mean?”
“Become a candidate for becoming two gods?”
“Our hierarchy doesn’t work that way and this is the first time I’ve heard of that, really” Veronica said
“But is it possible?” I ask
“No” She straightforwardly answered
“Then I’d be leaving now still need to gather my thoughts in all of this”
“I think my brain cells were worn out because of the tons of perspective and viewpoints to remember and I can’t accept the fact that I am a candidate for becoming a god”
“Oh yeah one more thing” I said
“What is it?” Veronica ask
“You know who the Trinity are correct?”
“You see the sister of the Spirit Art user of Diablo has a mark similar to mine and I was thinking to bring her here so you can look it up with your book to tell whether she is a candidate or not” I said
“A devil? Interesting” She reacted as she creases her chin
“Well I’m off maybe I’ll be back after school along with her” I said
“Looks like we have two new potential candidates” someone said
“And what brings you here, Anino?” Veronica ask
“So tell me what did the kid learn from the chamber?” He ask
“Beats me but for a kid his age he’s good”
“He even saw right through the hidden agenda within the moving paintings and on top of that he heard the same exact words engrave in the tablet”
“He said that his village elder was the one who told it to him and you know what that means” Veronica said with a grin on her face
“Lisandro is still out there” Anino said
The bell rang and the Miss De Villa immediately enter our classroom as soon as our subject teacher exits
“Everyone please settle down and take your seats I have an important announcement”
“The headmistress is making a team of talented individuals that will represent the university in the olympics”
“I shouldn’t be telling you this but we do have some promising members in our class and I want them to participate” Ms De Villa said with authority
“Now for the fun part if any one of you made it inside the team I will give everyone grade incentives and the incentives will be multiplied by the number of members that made it to the team, sound good?” She bribed
“But if you tried and failed me then everyone will have a deduction” She threatens with a cheerful look on her face as if she is enjoying every second of it
“So we are just going to step this one out”
“Your terms didn’t said anything about us not participating we might not gain anything but we won’t lose anything either”
“Better to play it safe our class is going well actually, in fact our class average is rank third in the exam” I said in a bragging manner
“That’s great” Ms. De Villa said sarcastically while slowly clapping
“Fine I won’t force you but think about the ranking boost that this class will have when one or two of you made it on the team” Ms. De Villa manipulatively said
“Okay class that would be all” She said then sat down
I pick up my things then approach the twins
“Head to the office without me okay. I need to talk to Ms. De Villa for a sec”
“Also tell Marg to wait for me okay, thanks!” I said then I went to the teachers table
I was in a bit of a rush so I lately noticed that Thalia was already standing so I ran into her. I manage to grab her by the waist so she didn’t fall
“Sorry” I embarrassedly apologized
I scooch over to the side then slowly walk to the teacher’s table to prevent other mishaps
“That was amusing!” Ms. De Villa teased as she giggles
“So what are the games that the university is going to compete in?” I ask
“I thought you weren’t interested” Ms. De Villa said with a teasing look on her face
“I am not interested at all but I am a curious though”
“Maybe the office will need someone to facilitate and I think the student council can handle it” I said
“I’ll let the headmaster know about your offer” Ms. De Villa said
“If you don’t mind me asking why is your sister acting super strange all of a sudden”
“She seems a bit power hungry lately” I concerly ask
“Beats me she’s not going home anymore. Seems to me, she has a different agenda in mind”
“She’s a grown woman, I think she can handle her decisions on her own”
“If it concerns you why not go ask her yourself. Maybe you’ll have a piece of her mind by then” She said
“I’d love that” I reacted
“Well see you tomorrow then. Let the headmistress know about the student’s, okay. Thanks!” I said then as I went on my way
At the student council office Alice, Margaret, Vermillion and the twins were there
“Good you are here” Margaret said as I enter
“Yes I’m here but what is he doing here?” I ask them as I point out Vermillion
“Don’t mind me I’m just chilling here” Vermillion teased as he acts all comfy
“Marg come with me, I like you to meet someone”
“As for you three can you please start the paperwork without us? We might be gone for several minutes” I said
“Sure, but where are we heading?” She suspiciously ask
“To the library” I responded
“I’ll tag along with you!” Vermillion eagerly shouted
“Let’s go shall we!” I said then we went on our way
On our way there we bump into Teodosia. It seems she’s heading home
“Where are you guys off to?” She ask
“To the library” I immediately answered
“Well you see I don’t have much to do today and I was hoping to” She said but she was interrupted by Margaret by saying “No!” in an awfully rude manner
We were all speechless and the pleasant atmosphere early was replaced with dead air.
