The Board

“That girl who is she?” I ask
“She’s Emilia Multo, a top class spirit arts user. Rumor has it that she can cast curses using only her mind”
“I don’t know how the board managed to catch and seclude her. A spirit arts user of that caliber is one tough cookie” the nurse said is as a joke
“Is it possible that she’s dead or invisible?”
“Believe me or not but I’ve seen her earlier” I said
“You what? Seen her? Are you hit in the head or something?”
“She’s gone for a year and their are no know trace about her vanishing”
“Some claimed she’s already dead. Maybe you’re just imagining things” She said shaking
It felt strange hearing those words that way it seems she knows what’s going on. I look her in the eye and use my powers against her but I can’t sense anything. It's like her mind is blank.
“If you don’t mind me asking how did you know these stories you’ve just told me?” I curiously ask
She takes a gulp and can’t look straight into my eyes. With a shaking voice she said
“I’ve been a nurse her for a very long time so I have connections of some sorts” she said
I stood up and walk across the room
“And these connections you saying are part of the elite or just random people that was there during the incident” I ask
“Random people” She immediately answered
“ I see. Are they still here? Will you give me their names”
“I have some questions I like to ask of her” I said
“No she’s not here” She said
Got’cha look like she knows the student I saw earlier who she addresses as Emilia Multo
“So she’s a girl!” I teased
She remained silent as she went inside the other room. I let her be and just sat down for a while figuring out a plan to extract more information from her. It took her several minutes before she stepped out of the room. I don’t know why but I have a bad feeling about her. She looks like a different person, I can tell by the aura she’s emitting and her stance change in an instance.
With a sharp gaze she approaches me
“I know you’re a bright kid Ramon but simple mind tricks have no effect on me” She boastfully said
“And you’re telling me this because?” I ask
“You still don’t get it do you?” She boastfully said
“Hold right there Emilia”
“Who said that I didn’t get it? As far as I know that you are the one the nurse is pertaining to”
“Am I right Emilia” I said in an intimidating manner
“So the rumors are true”
“Nothing can get pass through an Oculus’ eyes” she said
She sits down on a bed then pats the space beside her. It seems she wants me to sit beside her so I did. She grabbed my hand and locked her fingers to mine.
“I know this is sudden and it would be very incentive of me to ask”
“I know your intelligent and a good man so I am expecting a clear and honest answer from you”
“Do you love Margaret?” She silently muttered
“What did you just say?” I ask just to make sure but I clearly heard it the first time
“Do you love Margaret?” she ask again but her grasp on me becomes tighter
I take a deep breath as I clear my thoughts. I want to tell her my purest intentions to avoid any mishaps. It’s better to come clean and face her reaction rather than telling a lie that would bring me in trouble. So with a straight face I said
“I love Margaret but not to the point that I want to be her partner”
“For me she’s just a playful older sister. You know because she’s fun to hang around with and she’s older”
“The bond we share is nothing like the one you are currently thinking about. Just so you know I have someone in mind already and it isn’t her”
“Sorry” I said
She slowly loosens up her grasp to the point that both of are fingers are all relaxed with hold each other’s hand
“If you don't me asking”
“Is the sky goddess still the one you are pertaining to?” She curiously ask
With a straight look in the face I agreed
She lets go of my hand then stands up
“Well I have a very important announcement to speak of you so better listen up because I won’t repeat myself”
“The sky goddess is going to return but she’s disguised as a transfer student. I don’t know the details of her arrival and her status now but I am sure that this is moving forward”
“Expect a new student in school” she said then immediately kisses me on the lips
Then the nurse faints collapsing on top of me
“Emilia!” I shouted
At the meeting room all of the board members are properly seated and they all look hell serious.
Vandalir was the one yapping
“Did you see those kids, Procyon!” Vandalir said as he slams the table then stands up
“I am fully aware that you’re not doing your job right. Looks to me you’re unfit of becoming the president of the board”
“What happened to the Demon Lord we used to know?” Vandalir seems dismay
Procyon was just sitting there and could care less about what Vandalir just said.
“Tsk tsk tsk”
“Oh dear, oh dear. What should we do?” Procyon acting sarcastically soft
“I know, I don’t know what the issue is but can we please settle down a bit”
“You know that the headmistress can hear us right? So please settle down and let’s talk as if were civilized individuals” Herlina said with a pleasant smile on her face
The become quite all of a sudden and Vandalir takes his seat slowly
“Say Procyon you’re here ahead of us right? Why didn’t you stop the mishap before it reached that level?”
“Is the Demon Lord getting a bit rusty that he can’t contain or seal two spirit arts users?” the living shadow said
“Oh come on Anino we all know what he is capable off so stop your blabbering” the siren said
“Yeah, he fixed your mishap a year ago, remember. You know the cursed spirit art user”
“What is her name again? Can’t remember” Herlina said
“But still he can stop that on his own but he didn’t”
“What are you plotting, Procyon?” the shadow said
“I’ve speak to the person we are concern with and he seems genuine to me”
“Basing from the conversation we had that kid lacks manners, the knowledge about this institutions system, and the knowledge about the world he is trapped in”
“But that kids seems promising to me if he wants to reform the school I would personally allow it”
“He may come from the forsaken realm but believe me that kid has what it takes to change this school’s system down to its root” Procyon said
“So he’s a threat?” the Siren weirdly ask
“No” Procyon said with full conviction
“He’s actually the one we are looking for” Procyon said as if he’s plotting something
Then everyone properly sat down as someone enters the room
“Good you’re all here”
“Let’s get started shall we” Elena said
The blinds all went down and the monitor flashed my picture alongside Vermillion and Teodosia. On the next slide the pre survey and I was the one claiming the top stop. Procyon moves his eyes and looks at everyone with a smug look on his face. The meeting talked about the plans for tomorrow's election and everyone immediately agreed with the details.
Lunchtime and everyone was talking about what happened this morning. Some were completely clueless as if they were in a trance or something. As if someone is tugging their strings in order to move like a marionette. Something is off I am sure about it
I went to the table where the twins are seated then I saw the lady sitting next to them acting all comfy. With every step I take it gets colder and colder as if I’m being submerged into icy water.
“Emilia!” I said as soon as I reach the table
I look around and no one seems to look at me as if I’m invisible
“Don’t act dumb I know you already know that you’re the only that could see me”
“Everyone inside this room are my puppet isn’t that right twins” Emilia said
“Yes ma’am” the twins said in chorus with a lifeless tone
“Strange I know everyone should be my puppet but looks like someone isn’t I wonder who could that be” Emilia teased
“Stop playing Emilia! What do you want?” I furiously ask
“Uhmmm let me think” Emilia said as she taps her chin
“Ah how about you back out the election and leave this school” Emilia eagerly said
