Chapter 23
Anna laid her back on the soft surface of the pillow while watching the sky turn black. Paul lay beside her, cuddling into her side whilst he held her hand, kissing her wrist softly every now and then. They'd been together for a week now and it was amazing.
Nothing compared to being married to her, of course, but it still felt good. She didn' t think she could ever tire of his kisses and touch; loving every single second of their marriage.
Suddenly, she heard footsteps approaching the bedroom door, followed closely by loud knocking that echoed throughout the house. Paul lifted his head slightly from her chest to look at her, curious of who was at the door.
The knock came again and suddenly, someone began calling her name loudly, almost frantically.
