"Intruder!" We heard just as Applepie tucked the babies in with the brain squad.
I ran in the direction the warrior shouted from with my sword at the ready. There was no way one of my people was going to get hurt on my watch, that was just not the kind of king I was.
"Everyone stay calm," I heard Applepie's voice fading as I closed the distance, "Let me go help the king, can you guys stay put until then?"
"Don't worry Queen Vira, we are here and will take care of the rest, you go help the king." I heard the girl, her name was Linda I guess.
The Brain Squad, though were a bunch of smart kids, were closer to Applepie than they were to me. I couldn't blame them, they left their homes under her care and she was pretty hands-on in regard to
