Third person's POV Before Simon could say another word—or before any of his subordinates could move—Kade lunged. His free hand fisted in Liora’s hair and yanked her upright with brutal force. She cried out softly, legs nearly buckling beneath her, but he hauled her back against his chest. Cold metal flashed. A knife appeared at her throat. “Don’t move,” Kade hissed, pressing the blade close enough that she could feel its chill against her skin. His voice shook with rage and panic. “One step, and I swear I’ll end it. Right here.” Simon’s expression changed instantly. The easy composure vanished, replaced by sharp calculation. His men stiffened, weapons half-raised, but Simon lifted a hand slowly. “Everyone stays where they are,” Simon said evenly. His eyes never left Kade.
