"Do you even know what you're talking about?" I snapped at him in shock at his words.
Kade dragged a hand through his hair. His fingers were shaking. “I—I know I messed up. I know things got out of hand, and I’m trying to fix it, I swear. I just need you to understand that I did what I did because I’m desperate. Because I love you. I can’t lose you, Liora.” he said desperately.
I almost laughed. Love. The word tasted rancid coming from him. But then he stepped closer, voice breaking, and said the words that froze me completely.
“I don’t care anymore, Liora. You can—” he swallowed, breath hitching, “—you can be with other men if you want. If that’s what you need. I’ll share you. I’ll deal with it. I just want you.”
