Kade's POV
The door slammed shut behind me, but it didn't feel loud enough. Nothing did. My head was pounding, my jaw clenched so tight it hurt. The world tilted slightly as I stumbled through the front hall, one hand dragging along the wall to keep me steady and on my feet so I didn't fall. It was ironic because while I struggled not to fall, everything around me was falling and my life was slowly falling upside down. All because of one person, all because of the mistake I made by losing her.
I wasn't sober, hell, I wasn't even close, but the ache in my chest cut through the alcohol like a blade. I was drunk as f**k, but it didn't help the ache I was feeling in my heart. I thought it would at least make me feel a little numb to this pain, but I felt nothing. I bit my lower lip!
