Training With The Northern Squad 2 Leader 023, Part III

1146 Words
023 opened a room. No one was there, but there were training equipments everywhere. "So what's the first thing I'm gonna do?" I asked him. "Hmm... I'm thinking of an equipment that's suitable for any size. To be frank here, your small frame is a big problem in our training. Everything is too big for you." "Is there even an equipment suitable for my size?" I doubt so. Everything is at its standard size for Delsyians here. I'm just too small for this world. "Yeah! I remember now!" He went to a corner and rummaged through the things that were placed there. Then he brought out a cube of circuit. "This!" He presented it with a smile. "Uhm, how's that going to help me with my training?" "Oh kid, you should know. This is the weapon that's been mostly used by all Delsyians to fight Veldene. Actually, it's not just a weapon but also the most precious thing we utilize here on Delsyia for everyday needs." He explained. "Oh... I don't get it." I said. "You'll soon know more about it when we begin training. Now hold on to this." He tossed it to me like some ball. It was fortunate that I was able to catch it, I wasn't sure that I was able to because I'm not good at sports like this. The circuit cube was quite heavy. It fits in both of my hand, while it can only fit in one hand for 023. Then 023 brought out another device. It was some kind of huge black box with a square hole on top of it. Makes me think that this circuit cube can fit on that hole. "Now kid, place the circuit here while holding onto it." He ordered. "What will it do to me?" "Just do what I told you." Then I did. As I placed it on the hole, it fit perfectly. The cube activated the whole box as it glow brightly. "Device Activated." The device announced on its own. 023 started explaining stuff again. "This device is made for simulation to know if you've got good controls over the circuit. It also lets you know to what capacity you're capable of using." "Oh... so what do I do next?" He pointed up his finger to put me to silence as he instructed me to do what I have to. "Like I've mentioned before, we use voice control to operate weapons that are built with circuits. For now we need a voice recognition for you to take control of this simulator." "Alright." "Okay, now that this is activated, what's left for you to do is command it for voice recognition. Go ahead." "So I just say and demand it for a voice recognition?" "Yes, it's that simple." Now that's a fascinating way to control something. "V-Voice recognition." I blunted. "...voice recognized. Input code required." The device announced. "Hmm, what does it mean by input code?" I asked 023. Then there's a sudden conflict in his expression like he realized something and is quite unsure of what he's thinking. "Ah, codes. I'm not sure if it would allow you to use it, but go ahead and state your name." "Uhm, okay... uh..." then I focused on the simulator again. "M-Max...?" "Code: Max, registered. Code unrecognized. Voice recognition declined. Device shutting down." Then the glowing disappeared. It surprised me a bit, and I faced 023 at this problem. He sighed as if he saw this coming. "I think we need you to get a temporary code identity first. You'll never be able to use it if you're not recognized by the system." "Yeah, sure." My foreign existense here pretty much explains why this simulator won't accept me. "...but it would take time. We can't wait that long." "Then what am I to do right now?" If I can't use the simulator, what's 023 would make me do next? Physical training came to my thoughts and its troubling. I'm not good with physical activities because I was a shut-in before. "Hmm. Then I guess I have no choice." He took the cube from me and inserted it back to the hole again. He then started the simulator and made me do the voice recognition again too, but this time, he used his name/code to register and it accepted 023. "...this is pretty against the rules but I got no time to get you that temporary code identity. Come here and take over so we can get this simulation over with." He said. My hand reached out to the cube then I took over his place. As I have full control now, a wide hologram appeared before us. It contained a lot of information that only 023 could understand because it was written in the language I don't understand. "What does it say?" I asked. "Hm? You can't read it yourself?" Would I ask if I do? I sighed. "Yes... I don't understand it at all." I answered. "I thought you'll understand it though. Talking to you as you don't struggle to comprehend my language, I assumed you'll understand this as well." He pointed at the words on the hologram infront of us. "Unfortunately, I don't." "Hm, I don't have time to teach you the abc's of Delsyia so I'll have 320 do it for you. For now, I'll just read this to you." Then he faced the hologram while talking to me. "At first, I was really surprised by your stats when I scanned you, 'til now, I still do. I believe it's because of the compounds what you consists of." "Uhm." I don't really get what he's trying to say. "Well nevermind, your compability with circuit is just incredible. And now that we activated this simulator, we'll see to what extent you can operate a weapon." He said. "So how do we begin?" I asked. "...tier 1, any artillery object with most difficult maneuvering." I suddenly got alarmed by what he stated. "Now repeat what you've heard so we can get started." "O-Okay." Then I repeated after him, then the hologram had displayed a figure of a weapon. I recognized it as some sort of howitzer, a small cannon, I've seen it as that because of the games I played before that introduced gamers of using such weapons in-game for fun. "I believe you still remember how to operate a weapon like I've thought you before." "Yes, I do." Remembering the time he thought me how to fire the cannon, it was very simple. I also remember that the weapon uses the user's life force to convert it to energy that will be fired onto its target. "Then do it now with full capacity and fire." He ordered. I gulped nervously, but I trust 023. "...Maximum capacity! Fire!!" I yelled, then followed instant regret. Chapter end.
