Unreliable And Pathetic, Part I

995 Words
As soon as we got to the location, we saw 437 leaning on 974 with a wounded arm. I was alarmed to see the fluid with a golden shade of yellow bleeding through 437's wound. My feet moved quickly towards her without even knowing how I can help. "M-Max, you're here..." she muttered, looking so pale and weak. "437!!... don't die!" I cried. For someone who's a bundle of warmth and joy, it's hard to see 437 like this. "Wipe those tears, Max. I'm not dying just yet." She even tried to console me! Then 113 began to ask stuff. "437, 974, what exactly happened here? And where are the others?" 974 answered. "We were going to wipe out the F-ranked Veldenes that was said to be located here, but an E-ranked showed up. 023 tried to get rid of the E-ranked by himself while the others take care of the F-ranked ones. It was unexpected and everyone lost their ways because the Veldenes chased us away and we were all scattered." "...that foolish arrogant leader!!" He furiously exclaimed. 437 looked worried about 113 despite being wounded and weak. "Sir, please calm down. We need to sort things out and make a plan. I'm worried that the others might get hurt like me." 113 sighed heavily. "I know. Before we start, where's the ship?" Both 437 and 974 shook their heads. "We're actually... lost as well." 974 said. Then 113 had his palm on his forehead looking so stressed with this situation. "I never should have trusted 023 going on a mission as a leader. He's not good enough... just like how 019 used to say." It wasn't so surprising to hear this, but I feel bad for both 113 and 023. Everyone know well that 023 isn't suitable to become a leader, and 113 who suddenly became co-leader is trying his best to guide everyone because 023 is unreliable. After a few silent moments, 437 suggested that we have to locate the ship first so that we can locate the other squad members by the program they have which is the CPS. It's like GPS from planet Earth, their version of it is CPS. We all climbed aboard back to the shuttle and searched around the area. It wouldn't be too difficult to spot it if the ship landed down. Then as soon as we moved further to south, we saw the ship. "Sir, over there!" I pointed. Then 113 headed to the location, and when we landed, we saw something awful. "...oh no." I muttered. Glancing at 437 who was being assisted by 947, she had her other free hand on her mouth covering it. Tears were slowly piling up at the corner of her eyes. 947 comforted her with a sad expression on his face. And as for 113, there was no expression. Rather, he looks emotionless and cold-hearted. The sight of three members that was ripped into pieces was horrifying, their blood was everywhere. There puddles of their blood, some trees stained with their blood, and the pieces of the bodies were piled up. When I couldn't take it anymore, I looked away. This is too much for me... my stomach can't handle this. "Let's go inside." 113 proceeds to the ship. Then I heard 437 weeped. "756... 989... 432!..." she mentioned all their names. It was a sad thing that I haven't hung out much with those three because I was busy with my training. I clenched my fists and closed my eyes. Breathing in deeply, I don't want to shed tears just yet. I'm a man, I must handle priorities first just like 113... so I had to hardened my heart and follow 113 into the ship. As I got in, I saw 113 already operating something that'll locate the others. A hologram of a map was on mid-air and had white dots which I assume is the location of the other members. "...so they really are seperated, and worse, all far from each other." 113 said. "So are we going to their location to get them?" I asked. "It won't be necessary to do so..." "What!? Why would you say that!?" "Based on the corpses outside, it's possible that they also ended up in that kind of state. They didn't prepared themselves for this mission... so it wouldn't be surprising if we find them dead." "But 113! Didn't they called us to help them? Why abandon your team now!?" I can't believe how cold 113 is. It's like he don't want to bother himself to help his squad anymore. He sighed like he was so tired. "What's the point? Even if we find them with ripped limbs or legs, they wouldn't be useful anymore. They're good as dead." "But what if they're still fighting for their lives and waiting for your help! They're still struggling 113, struggling to continue to live!" I told him. His face wasn't convinced, as if he had a fixed conclusion that the other members are already dead. Then 437 stepped in our conversation, she already had a bandage covering her wound. "We should look for them!" She yelled. "437... you already seen the dead bodies outside, what else can you assume with the rest? The E-ranked Veldene have probably killed 023 by now, and the rest were hunted down by the F-ranked." "This was just like before! Yes, we lost our precious leader, 019! But we found 023 and he was still alive. We shouldn't give up on them so easily if we can still fight!!" She was crying while screaming all those. Then 974 talked as well. "437 is right. We can still fight to rescue the others, we have the ship for defense and there's still artileries at the back." He suggested. 113 sighed again. He must be changing his mind. "...if you all insist this much, then I have no choice." His eyes landed on me. "We won't be annihilating the Veldenes, but to rescue the others. I'm expecting your support from behind our back, Max." I nodded sincerely. "I'll do my best to help!" Just you wait 023, we'll save you guys! Chapter end.
