Chapter 14Rue picked beans, and beans, and beans. How could there be so many beans? How did you preserve beans? He should put some in the freezer in the house, so it didn’t take up room in Gertrude’s. “These are the radishes I should harvest, right?” Noah gestured at one row of radishes, and Rue nodded. “Yeah, those and wherever else you find some more.” Noah looked around, a scowl deepening on his brow. “Damn, Rue. There are radishes everywhere.” There wasn’t. There were plenty of other crops. “What are you putting in after?” Rue shrugged. Chaton was better at knowing what should go in after, but he hadn’t shown up today. Rue suspected he wouldn’t while Noah was around. They could’ve used the help, though. “Grab something off the porch. Or sow carrots. Is it too late to sow carrots?
