Aria’s POV
I glanced at Klaus, my brows furrowed in confusion. “Why are you back so soon?”
He exhaled slowly, his golden eyes shadowed with something unreadable. “I had a bad feeling,” he admitted. “I couldn’t shake it off, even after we left. Then Orion got a message from Amara, and we decided to return immediately.”
Guilt pricked at my chest. “I’m sorry,” I murmured. “I didn’t mean to disrupt your trip.”
Klaus turned his head slightly, his expression softening as he watched me fidget with my fingers. “Nothing is more important than you, Aria.”
My breath hitched at his words.
I lifted my gaze to him, studying the man in front of me. Klaus was always so confident, so sure of himself, but there was something raw in his expression now—something vulnerable that made my heart clench.
