Chapter 138. Knott

1220 Words

KLAUS'S POV We ran side by side through the forest, our paws brushing against the soft earth. The moonlight filtered through the trees, casting a silvery glow over Aria's white fur. She playfully bumped her shoulder into mine, and I responded by swatting her with my tail. She let out a short yip and nudged me again, faster this time. We kept up the teasing, swatting tails and brushing against each other, two wolves tangled in a carefree moment, escaping the chaos of the day. When we arrived at the tree where we’d left our clothes, we slowed and shifted back to human form. I turned away out of respect—and self-preservation. Aria's beauty always hit me like a truck, and I didn’t trust myself not to act on impulse. She stood quietly for a moment, then looked at me, her eyes locked on mine.
