Murdock and Declan were standing on the plateau edge, looking over the plateau below. With them were Emily, carrying Gordon, Maureen, and Roslynn.
“Are you certain you won’t change your mind?” Murdock said to Declan.
“You’ve been after me for most of a year. I haven’t changed my views and I haven’t apologized to your …wife…so, no. I haven’t relented.”
Murdock nodded. “As you wish, then. You will not be allowed on this plateau.”
Declan shrugged. “Don’t want to be.”
