Chapter 15: The Dawn of the Luna Queen

1516 Words
The deafening silence that followed the collapse of High Lord Logan’s dark rebellion felt heavier than the mountain snow. Outside the grand obsidian windows, the permanent indigo twilight of the northern sky began to soften, replaced by a breathtaking, pale golden dawn that illuminated the unbroken white spires of Crescent Peak. The colossal, radiant dome of stardust magic Kisa had woven from her bedroom windows remained fully intact, pulsing gently over the valley like a permanent celestial shield. The war of thrones was officially over, and the kingdom had been saved. Inside the royal master suite, Kisa lay slumped against the marble windowsill, her breath shallow and ragged. Every muscle in her body burned with an excruciating, hollow ache from tapping into the absolute depths of her Spirit Tethering power. Her raw, bleeding fingertips throbbed, but as she looked down at her hands, she felt an unshakeable sense of peace. A heavy, rushed scuffle echoed from the corridor just outside. The massive obsidian doors were violently thrown open, and High Alpha Daudi strode into the private suite. He still wore his dark-iron battle armor, stained with the soot and ice of the courtyard duel, but his massive obsidian broadsword was securely sheathed on his back. His pitch-black eyes were two wide, bottomless voids of absolute, frantic panic as his gaze swept the room. The moment he spotted Kisa breathing safely on the floor, the terrifying, murderous tension in his broad shoulders instantly dissolved. But as Daudi took a step toward her, his predatory instincts flared. His eyes locked onto the far wall, where the bloody, unconscious form of Silas lay slumped against the mahogany worktable. Daudi’s jaw clenched so hard the muscles jumped, his fangs elongating slightly as a monstrous, gravelly growl rippled from his chest. "The merchant worm broke into my chambers," he snarled, his voice tight with a terrifying, protective fury. "Did he touch you, Kisa? I will tear him to pieces right now." "He didn't touch me, Daudi," Kisa whispered softly, a tired but triumphant smile gracing her lips as she weakly gestured to the heavy iron weaving distaff on the floor. "I fought my own battle up here. He won't be threatening anyone ever again." Daudi stared from the unconscious blackmailer back to Kisa, a profound, breathless adoration completely overtaking his sharp, aristocratic features. He crossed the twenty feet of open marble floor in a single, blurred heartbeat, dropping heavily to his knees right in front of her. He didn't care about his armor or the bloodstains; he reached out, his massive arms wrapping securely around her waist, and violently pulled her small frame flush against his burning chest plate. The maximum physical contact caused the Fated Mates bond to explode between them in a desperate, blinding rush of liquid fire. A massive wave of golden stardust and violet shadow-magic rippled outward from their joined bodies, melting the morning frost on the glass and causing the embers in the hearth to dance beautifully. Daudi wrapped his large, calloused hand gently around the back of her head, burying her face into the warm crook of his neck, his body trembling slightly with the relief of holding his mate. "You are insane, little weaver," Daudi murmured against her hair, his deep baritone tight with an intense, unshakeable emotion that shook Kisa to her very core. His thumb lightly traced the sharp line of her jawline, his touch staggeringly tender compared to the violence he had unleashed on the battlefield below. "You reactivated the ancient blood-wards from a bedroom window. You saved my vanguard, my palace, and my throne. My wolf is practically bowing to you." "I told you I wouldn't let him destroy what we built, Your Majesty," Kisa whispered back, her silver eyes locking directly into his dark voids as she rested her hands against his chest. The stardust barkcloth vestment beneath his breastplate was completely unblemished, pulsing a flawless, serene violet rhythm that perfectly anchored his sanity. "The tether held." "The tether did more than hold," a warm, familiar voice rasped from the open doorway. Kisa’s head snapped toward the threshold, her breath catching completely in her throat. Standing between two elite Royal Guards at the door was an older human woman wrapped in a clean, earth-toned wrapper, her dark eyes shining with proud, emotional tears. "Auntie Pinky!" Kisa cried out, her exhaustion completely vanishing as she scrambled out of Daudi's arms and rushed across the floor, throwing herself into her mentor's embrace. "I am here, child," Auntie Pinky wept, holding her niece tightly. "Commander Kato’s guards brought me up from the southern outposts under the King's express orders last night to ensure my safety. I saw the golden dome from the valley, Kisa. I saw the stardust weaving. Your mother is smiling down from the cosmos today. You became the anchor this world needed." Daudi stood up slowly, his massive frame casting an immense shadow as he walked over to the two human women. He did not look at them like servants. He lowered his head slightly in a gesture of profound royal respect toward Auntie Pinky. "Your niece has changed the destiny of the North, Pinky," Daudi commanded, his deep voice echoing with absolute authority across the room. He reached into his leather belt and drew out a thick, ancient scroll rolled in decaying wolf-hide—the century-old blood treaty that had enslaved the southern human clans for generations. With a swift, brutal act of strength, Daudi violently ripped the scroll down the middle, throwing the shredded remnants into the roaring fire of the hearth. "As of this sunrise, the oppressive treaties are officially torn to ash. The humans of the south are no longer servants or second-class citizens. They are free citizens of the realm, protected by the steel of Crescent Peak." Auntie Pinky gasped, her hands flying to her mouth as tears of overwhelming joy cascaded down her lined cheeks. The century of fear was finally over. Daudi turned his terrifying, pitch-black gaze back to Kisa. He reached out, his large hand gently capturing her wrist and pulling her back into his personal space, trapping her small frame against his solid frame. The slow-burning fire of their connection was at its absolute, beautiful peak. He reached onto the worktable, picking up a stunning, heavy crown forged from liquid silver and set with raw, glowing stardust gems that matched her magic perfectly. "The council is waiting in the amphitheater below, Kisa," Daudi whispered, his rough voice dropping to an intimate, low register right against her lips, sending a delicious shiver down her neck. He gently placed the celestial crown onto her head, locking the fated mate's bond for eternity. "They are waiting to swear fealty to the human weaver who tamed a rabid king. Step onto the balcony with me. Let me crown you the true, beloved Luna Queen of this entire realm." Kisa looked up into the bottomless black eyes of her Alpha King, her heart swelling with an unyielding, fierce pride. The penniless apprentice who had spent nineteen years hiding in a dark cellar was completely gone. She turned, locking her fingers tightly within his large, calloused hand, and stepped out onto the grand royal balcony beside him. Below, thousands of loyal wolves and human clans stood unified in the courtyard, letting out a massive, earth-shaking roar of absolute devotion as they looked up at their new rulers. The dawn had arrived, the golden barkcloth was secure, and the human weaver and her monster king were officially ready to rule their new world in permanent, majestic peace.
