POV: Mina (Age 18 - After the Battle)
Ten minutes turns into twenty because the Academy's main corridors are blocked by bodies.
Not just Council soldiers. Students. Faculty. People who were in the wrong place when the fighting started, caught in crossfire between trained hunters and three mate-bonded wolves fighting with absolute ruthlessness.
I count them as we move through the building toward the archives. Try to count them. Lose track around fifteen because there are more scattered throughout the corridors, more being carried by surviving students, more being discovered in classrooms where they'd tried to hide.
The Trio moves ahead of me in a loose protective formation, still in human form now, still bleeding from wounds they haven't properly treated because ten minutes wasn't enoug
