Erskine took over after that, his orders flowing fast and true. Zip Boots and others like him were marched off for something I hoped wouldn’t be t*****e but suspected wouldn’t be enjoyable. The weakest servants were treated to magical mumbo jumbo that straightened their backs and wreathed their faces in smiles.
And...I barely noticed. Because the instant Wolfie spoke, our pack bond reignited. I understood, somehow, exactly what had happened while I’d been comatose. Images and words rushed into my mind, filling every gap.
Wolfie, it seemed, had accepted Ash into his pack soon after he’d accepted me. Together, they’d tracked down Erskine and let the fae prince use their pack bond to build up his strength, draining both werewolves dry in the process.
