Chapter Eight Lady Isobel And The Good Captain Lady Isobel was driven to my front door where I was pleasantly excited and waiting to greet her. We had not seen each other since before the war and my parents death and so we would have a lot of catching up to do. I had no intention of showing her or telling her about how richly my life had changed; how innocent of me not to predict her intent and need. We greeted each other in the traditional way that ladies of a certain class greet each other in public; with a gentle nod, a slight hesitant kiss and a touch of gloved fingers against flesh.
