Kris stood and rocked the baby, eight months old now, to sleep. She watched Joss and Alexi set up the table for the group of kids. It was the first group, and everything had gone well so far. There were another two weeks left before they were sent back to their families, hopefully, a bit better off than when they arrived. Joss and Alexi beamed. They loved what they did, and spent so much time with the kids, they were exhausted at night. But she knew neither of them would give up the chance to work with the kids. Alexi had her figure back and looked even better than before, the daily rides on the bike trails, the hikes and the general work on the ranch did her good.
