“W-Why are you here?” I asked in shock and took a step backwards. His eyes looked at our distance and in just a blink , he was already there right in front of me.
He tilted his head and eyed me with full of arrogance. “Why don't you just thank me? Hmm?”
Thank him? This monster?
My tears welled up. The shock and the horror I felt minutes ago surged up. “A-Are you kidding me?” I took a glance at the floor and saw the woman still lying there. The man who did that to her wasn't there anymore. It's like he turned into a dust. And I don't know how or why but I guess it's because of this monster.
“I-I'm here in this f*ck up place with f*cking monsters like you and you still want me to be thankful and greatful?”
His eyes bulged a bit as if he's amused for my sudden burst.
“W-Why don't you just tell me what's happening here? What…happened? Why that man…and y-you?” my tears rolled down my cheeks and pointed him with a shivering lips and trembling hands “W-What the heck is happening here?!”
His menacing blue eyes stared down at me that I could even feel more fear insides. He is too…much.
I felt a hard and cold wall behind me but his eyes and presence were colder. I closed my eyes as he leaned and closed the distance in between. My hands gripped and tightened as I also could hear my own heartbeats throbbing insides ten times when I felt his warm breath on my cheeks.
“Are you still asking that? I know you have an idea now.” He whispered in a low and deep voice right on my ear. Even his voice sounded so dangerous.
I gasped. I exhaled deeply and bravely looked at him. Our eyes locked. The blue ocean like intense eyes were tempting and hypnotizing but dangerous at the same time.
“You're a vampire.” I mumbled.
I don't believe them before. Of course in the present times where science is ahead of anything, vampire and any likes are something that hard to believe. They were just mentioned in some fictional books and never really proven so people never really cared and believes that they are just pure from imagination.
But now…here in this place and time, to see it from my own naked eyes…I guess science cannot explained this even.
“Vampire…” I saw his index finger grazed on my skin. From my arms, to shoulders and neck. It was slow and dizzying. He did that without tearing our eyes off too.
I hardly breathe while trying to calm myself down.
“You think?” he trailed of while still tracing my skin with his finger.
My teeth gritted when I felt his breath on my neck this time.
“You know something right? You called me time traveler at the first time we met. You knew already that I wasn't belong in this time.”
His eyes eyed me with a smirk. “Why should I tell you? You're just a food to me. You are nothing.”
Then I saw it coming. Before I could lose my mind again and let him bite me like the first time, my instincts won and helped me.
A sharp breathe before I swiftly get the small knife behind me which I saw earlier on the ground. And without hesitation I plunged it right to his stomach.
Bit he wasn't even shock. His expression didn't changed.
His tongue grazed his lower lip while looking at me with pure amusement in his eyes before his eyes lowered down on where I stabbed him. My knees trembled just like my hands before I pushed him and took two steps away.
His hand was on his stomach where there was a red thick liquid. His own blood.
My friend, Rosanna would always tell me that I was too nice and innocent. And I guess she wouldn't believe that right now…I just hurt and worst stabbed someone.
I swallowed hard, trying to calm myself and not panic. I shouldn't feel scared and worried. He is a monster…he is not a real human.
My hands gripped tightly on the knife handle.
I won't let him bite me again and suck my blood. I need to survive this place and time and escaped. And if it means that I should kill a monster like him just to get back then…I'm willing to do it.
“You stabbed me…” he said as if he's trying to contemplate what happened.
I thought that he would weakened at least but he didn't. He didn't react like what I expected. He didn't wince in pain or anything. Instead he still looks amused.
He took a step and I did a step backwards too.
“D-Don't come near me or I'll kill you! I warned and shouted but my voice gave me away. I'm scared.
I don't have any idea on how to kill a likes of him because I wasn't a fond of movies and books related to them!
“You're gonna kill me? You have a guts, huh?” he said and raised his hand which he used to touch his stomach. He licked his own blood like it was nothing.
“This is the first time…” he added and a creepy smile formed to his mouth.
My eyes turned bulge. I was about to run away when he appeared in front of me again and easily hold me to my neck with both of his hands. My back was pushed to the wall while he choking me to death but still with his creepy smile.
I gasped for air while trying to push him but I couldn't. I could feel it. I was losing seconds by seconds but this monster couldn't care. He even looks happy and enjoying.
“You want to kill me? Then try hard.” He uttered in a small voice or maybe it was my senses weakening. My vision blurred and my limbs left him and fell beside me. Bjt before darkness could swallow me, I saw his smile and blood-like eyes.
When I opened my eyes, the first thing I did was holding on to my neck. I rose from where I lying and inhale and exhaled deeply, as if I was still on bad dreams which a monster was trying to kill me.
But was it really a dream?
Scared, I wandered my eyes. When I realized that I still wasn't in the museum, horrfying thoughts hovered me again.
“You're awake.”
I gasped and looked at the door at the corner. I didn't even hear it opened. There, the man named Leon was standing with a sweet smile. But I wouldn't be blinded by that kind os smile. After what happened I won't trust anyone. Even this man.
“You fell asleep for forty eight hours. It seems like you was too tired.” He said that surprised me.
I sleep for whole forty eight hours?! That's impossible! I couldn't even sleep for straight three hours because I have insomnia!
“Are you hungry? Do you want to eat?” He asked again and about to take a step in when I raised my voice and stopped him.
“P-Please don't come in!” my voice was laced with fear.
I have nothing to protect myself right now! And even if I have, I don't think I can protect myself with it. I realized that they are…mortals.
His foot halted on getting in. I thought he would still continue but it surprised me when he didn't. He even moved backwards, almost leaving the room.
“I'm sorry but please don't be scared, I won't hurt you.” He softly said but I just shook my head an hugged myself. I wouldn't believe him. Not anyone in this place.
He stared for seconds before he sighed. “I know it's hard to trust me, us…but you have to. You need to rely to us…”
I wanted to mock his words. How can he say that when one of them tried to kill me not once but many times?
“I don't intend to rely on you…or anyone here. You are all monsters.” I said in a gritted teeth and jackhammering chest.
He smiled a bit before he responds. “I'll just inform the maids bring your food here. Please eat, Snow and regain your energy.” He said before he closed the door.
I was left stunned.
How did he know my name?! I didn't told it to anyone here! Do they know me? But how?
A knock from the door interrupted my thoughts. I was scared at first but when a maid peeked with a tray, I felt a bit of relief. She delivered the food just like the man earlier said.
The maid bowed at me as she put the tray down at the table. I didn't tear my eyes away from her though, scared that she might be one of them as well. But she just left without saying anything or doing harm.
My eyes stucked at the door for seconds before they landed at the food of tray. My stomach grumbled but should…I really eat? I don't feel my appetite. I don't think I can have in this kind of place.
I stood up from the bed and neared ths window. I peeked and saw myself three floors from the ground.
I could jump. I'd rather escape again than stay there but…I'm also scared. What if I get to meet a monster like that again oitside? But staying in here is too dangerous for me too…
I shuddered when I remembered his face, enjoying while watching me lose consciousness.
Before I could think, I widely opened the window. I don't even have a plan. It was just a call of desperation to…survive.
I tightly closed my eyes and jumped but before I could hit the ground, I felt a hands wrapped me and embraced me from behind to stop me.
“What are you doing?!” a growl made me opened my eyes. Then I saw Charles. He looked so mad and shocked at the same time.
“Do you want to die?” he shouted again and put me down. My weight wasn't a bother to him. He easily dragged me away the window. His breathe was in labored too as if he ran a marathon to get here in front of me.
Maybe it was because of his child appearance that my fears slowly subsided but tears followed. He statue to his feet as he watched me cry and bend on my knees to cover my face.
“I-I don't want here anymore…please help me…I don't want to die.” I pleaded and looked to his eyes.
