Human

238 Words
"Am I the first human?" I wondered as I sat twisting my curly dark hair, staring into the far wilderness. I thought so because since I had opened my eyes from what felt like the longest slumber I had ever had, I had seen just four walls of a cabin with high ceiling painted formally white which contained a feathery green couch in the centre and a red dumb door as an entrance. I had woke up tired and in shock to suddenly become aware of my surroundings along with racing thoughts. My stomach growled, prompting my brain to find food. I found a box under the couch with food supplies; I didn't give much thought as to who put it there? I just ate until I was full and drank from a bottle of water with the supplies. I also found a drawing and a note, which I was able to read as if I knew how to do it my entire life and to my worst surprise, the note said, "You are human." I had no idea what that meant. I just felt too tired and confused, so I went to the door, opened it, and realized I was in the middle of nowhere. I stared out at the wilderness ahead thinking "Am I the first human?, what is human?,or am I being categorized or told or worst of all is someone reminding me?". © words_oflekhani
