"His deepest darkest secret."
His eyes widened. "You can do that?"
"Nah I just have jobless invisible beings at my disposal."
"That's a very arrogant and insensitive way of putting it." He whispered, feeling deeply offended by the words she used to describe ghosts. He felt that she saw them as nothing but tools.
Leah let out a chuckle as they reached the backyard pool where all activities stopped and all eyes fell on her, majority of the occupants not even recognizing the pretty brunette.
"Leah Wayne?" Kelly Nelson came forward.
"I forgot to call Sarah." She muttered. She didn't know what the duo had done to Max's car after they left but she knew they would have done something for sure. It would really be fun to see what the ghost would do if she was here when she realizes that her best friend who betrayed her with her boyfriend was invited to the party thrown in her memory.
"Who invited you?" She asked, looking disgusted though inside, the girl couldn't help but envy the perfect nose on the face of the pretty girl.
"Exactly what I wanted to ask you. What is the cheater doing here?" Tristan asked, taking a step forward to stand in the way of Kelly and Leah.
"Tristan, how could you say that?" Kelly asked, crocodile tears already sprouting out of her eyes. "I know I made a mistake but she was my best friend since kindergarten!"
"Which is what is making this all the more unacceptable and disgusting." Calum spoke up.
Leah turned to him for the first time since they made their entry into the party. His eyes were on Max who was standing there with a paper cup in his hand, looking anywhere but at him.
Leah narrowed her eyes. Oh great, things weren't going to go smoothly from now.
He turned on his heels and walked out.
Or maybe nothing was going to happen after all.
She turned around to shrug at the two boys she had met at the entrance and was about to say goodbye when Calum walked back in, took her hand and dragged her out.
"You didn't let me go hunt down the ghosts that inhabited the Blake residence!" She pouted as he opened the door for her.
"Cal!!" Tristan made his way out.
"Nope." Calum shook his head. "Not now, Tristan!" He turned back to Leah. "Since we are out already, let's go to the movies or something."
She nodded, completely down with the idea.
"See you on Monday." He gave his best friend a dismissive wave.
"Or maybe tomorrow?" Tristan asked, hopefully, looking between his best friend and his new friend.
Calum sighed and looked over at Leah. "Nope." She replied without skipping a beat. She had some major reading to do along with studying for tests. She also had to pull out the Hosting chart.
"Nope." Calum echoed and drove off, leaving Tristan to wonder – "What the hell is happening?"

"You are inhuman!" Calum whisper-yelled as he pulled his jacket up to his eyes as the ghost sliced the actor into two pieces.
Leah giggled as she stuffed popcorn into her mouth. "Dude, ghosts like that don't exist... I think."
His eyes darted to her face, barely visible in the dimly lit theatre. "You think?"
She shrugged. "I mean, my grandfather was a crazy ghost. Scary and power hungry but definitely not that!" She pointed at the screen. "And Michael, Paul and Sarah are just normal humans without a body so..."
"So, what makes them the way they are?"
"I have no idea. Without their memories, they can be scary, mischievous and sometimes evil and sometimes craving a body but Sarah is taking it pretty well. She doesn't have much memories but she is fairly doing well and refraining herself from possessing humans and keeping her end of the deal. Pretty impressive if you ask me!"
"And you think that has something to do with you hosting her before her funeral?" Calum's eyes were on the screen as his hand made its way to her popcorn.
She slapped it away, her eyes too on the screen. "I thought you were on a diet."
"Today is cheat day."
"It wasn't at the snacks counter." She rolled her eyes.
"Oh, come on!"
"Nope." She smirked as she sipped on her coke. "And to answer your question, I think it does now that you mentioned it, which means I will have to add that to my research list too."
"Hmm..."
"Pass me the coke at least."
"Eww gross, no!" She scrunched up her nose.
"Why not?" He smirked. "Never tasted saliva before?"
"Ewwww..." She smacked his arm, disgusted. He laughed out loud earning 'shhh' and annoyed looks from the others. But Calum had his eyes on his new friend and his mind engaged with the new information that Leah Wayne never had her first kiss.
"You are so cute!"
"Wanna taste hellfire?"
"How can you taste it?"
Leah gave him a freaky face.
"Okay I don't wanna know." He chuckled. "It would be really cool if you could do the touch and know thing though, right?"
"I will be able to once I achieve clairvoyance."
Calum pouted when he heard that.
"What should I do to get these awesome powers?"
Leah looked over at him, pursing her lips as she thought. "That is actually a good question. Why didn't I ever think of it?"
"You don't know?"
"I am like, seventeenth generation vessel and twelfth generation exorcist. So there were sixteen other vessels in my family, eleven of whom were also exorcists. So one of them mutated maybe?"
"Please don't bring science into this." Calum pointed his finger at her with the funniest expression on his face.
Leah let out a giggle.
"What are your plans for tomorrow?"
"Looking for answers."
"I will come over."
Leah looked over, raising a brow. "Do you want to damage your social status that bad?"
"I don't care anymore."
She nodded, looking back at the gruesome sight on screen and giggling again. "Whatever floats your boat!"
