Chapter 11: Alexis' POV

646 Words
I’d admitted my feelings, just like that.      All it took was a few incredible moments of pleasure, and just like that I had told her I loved her. I blushed deeply and buried my face in her chest, suddenly very self-conscious. I didn’t know why. I mean, surely if I was her mate then she would feel the same way about me, wouldn’t she?      That didn’t stop me from being incredibly nervous as I waited for her response.      She looked down at me and smiled gently. “I love you too, Alexis.” She leaned in and kissed me softly, her lips meeting mine with a tenderness I never knew she possessed.      I felt her pull me closer to her as I wrapped my arms around her neck. She was still shivering slightly against me, but she held me close as she kissed me, her hands sliding down my spine ever so gently, forcing a soft moan from me.      I pulled back after a moment and laid a hand on her chest gently. “I was so nervous to tell you… I don’t really know why,” I laughed softly, hugging her tightly. She kissed the top of my head softly, the rumble sounding in her chest once more. That rumble was so soothing, so calming, that I was asleep in an instant before I could hear her response.      I snap awake, panting heavily, coated in blood. I look around the room, my eyes wild, searching for some kind of answer, searching for Sofia. Pain radiates through my body and I can feel dried tears on my cheeks. I lurch forward only to cry out in pain as I feel my shoulders dislocate. I look back and see my arms are chained to the wall behind me. A loud bang sounds throughout the massive stone castle.      He’s coming back, I can hear him. He knows I’m awake again, and he’s returning for answers. I can’t give them to him, I can’t betray Sofia that way.      The door slams open, and a pale figure strides into the room, his torture chamber. How long have I been here? I don’t remember, all I remember is the pain. I don’t look up at him.      “Alright, miss Alexis. Are you ready to tell me where your mate is?” His voice is soothing, smooth like butter. But I know better. I know he’s a monster, I know what he’s done to me.      “She’ll never fall into your trap,” I spit at him, my voice barely audible. I can feel his blood red eyes staring me down, and the air around me suddenly grows much colder. So much so that I can now see my breath, and I can feel my fingers and toes going numb.      He wipes the spit from his shoe and leans down, one cold finger lifting my chin and forcing me to look at him.      “With you in danger, her mate, the Luna of her pack? She’ll be here, I assure you. Whether or not you’re alive to see her again…” His wicked smile sends shivers down my spine, and his hand moves around my throat. I whimper softly, weakly straining against his hold. I can feel him squeeze once, then drop me again. I quickly scramble away, back against the wall as he stands straight up, smirking evilly.      “She’ll come,” he tells me once more before turning on his heel and leaving the room.      I feel tears slipping down my cheeks as I curl up, hugging my knees to my chest.      Where are you…?      I fall back into sleep.
