Alejandro did not speak to me. He knew I was there. I’m forever there. He roamed around, crossed, and ran without a glance or groan. Our gloomy home, cold, petals landing in burning trash, innocence lost, countdown to death. Was this our ending? Alejandro ate an energy bar. Exercised until exhausted. Ate a protein-packed meal: pasta, smoked beans, chicken breast, broccoli, a protein fruit shake.
