Bambi tapped her plastic green watch. “I can always count on your fashionable lateness.” She smiled, grabbing his hand. “Bang-bang, check out those diamonds. I could clear my debt with this.”
“You should be drooling over me.” Alejandro gathered her thin frame in his arms. “Skip.” He kissed her cheek. “Sorry I’m late.”
“I just got here, actually. I was running some errands. Stop! Don’t tickle me.” Bambi pulled away, giggling. “Are you ever on time?”

“One day?” He traced the outline of her glossy pink, thin lips with his index finger.
