**Jade POV**
I looked around me to see a giant vanity with two sinks, one stocked with Elliott’s things and the other with a few hair products and a tooth brush which must’ve been from Cleo as well. There was a big stand up shower with shiny glass doors and a massive shower head with a window in the ceiling overhead. Beside the shower was a large bath tub, probably big enough to fit two people.
“I’ve always wanted a hot shower.” I replied sheepishly and Elliott frowned for a moment.
“An excellent choice!” He recovered quickly and showed me how to turn the shower on, where the bath products for me were, and hung my towels up for me. “I’ll be just outside if you need anything.” He said, kissing my forehead and shutting the door gently behind him. I turned to the shower and fought back a giggle. This would be my first ever hot shower inside.
I felt the water with my hand to make sure it was still the temperature Elliott had set for me before stepping all the way in. A moan escaped my lips as soon as the water hit my back and I tilted my head toward the ceiling to get my hair wet too. I didn’t want to waste too much alone time with Elliott in the shower, but I’d never been able to take a shower that wasn’t timed before. At river bed, there were a lot of us that needed to get clean in a short period of time before chores started. I stood under the water with my eyes closed for I don’t know how long, feeling it warm my aching muscles from all the manual labor my body was used to, and it even seemed to ease the residual pain from the beating I’d had before Elliott found me. Somehow, that felt like a lifetime ago, even though the evidence of it was still alive and well all over my skin. I pulled a pink bottle of shampoo from the shelf built into the shower wall and squeezed out a quarter sized amount, inhaling deeply as soon as I caught the lightly perfumed scent of the shampoo. I massaged it onto my head and allowed it to thoroughly rinse through my hair.
Once I was satisfied that all the suds were gone, I grabbed the twin bottle that said “conditioner” and squeezed a generous amount out. I’d never been able to use conditioner, I was always jealous of the ranked female wolves when I cleaned their bathroom because of all the options they had when it came time to get clean. Omegas were given one bar of soap per month each and if you lost yours, that was your problem. I massaged the conditioner into my scalp, moaning at the ecstasy I felt as I began to smell the sweet scent of the conditioner rubbing off on me. I decided to let the conditioner sit on my head while I shaved my legs and washed my body, feeling another wave of shock that Cleo had apparently purchased a nice razor specifically for women and not the $1 two blade men’s razors I was used to making due with.
I finished shaving and to my extreme pleasure, I found a lavender scented body scrub and decided now was as good a time as any to try it. I massaged my legs, arms, and midsection with the tiny scented beads and moved on to body wash. As I slowly scrubbed every inch of my body with the soft wash cloth that had been left for me on the shower shelf, I finally decided it was time to rinse out my hair and get out. I had never felt so clean in my life. I couldn’t wait to put on clean clothes and get re-
OH NO.
To my horror, I realized I hadn’t grabbed a change of clothes on my way into the bathroom and I would be having to come out and walk to the closet in nothing but a towel. I swung open the shower door timidly, wrapping my hair in one of the ridiculously soft towels and wrapping the other around my body. My heart was beating out of my chest and I wasn’t sure what to do.
A light knock on the door rattled me from my anxiety attack. “Jade?” Elliott’s voice called. “Are you alright in there?”
“Yeah, I just forgot to grab clothes and I was trying to figure out what to do.” I was already regretting sharing that. I wanted to seem confident and sexy, like the older she wolves I used to watch with their mates at River Bed. They always seemed to know how to keep their mates guessing and they always seemed so grown up. There was no way I could compete with that if I was afraid to even let my mate see me in a towel.
“Oh, no problem. I’ll grab you something comfortable and warm. It gets a bit chilly out when the sun starts to set.” Relief washed over me as I observed Elliott’s non judgmental tone and I silently thanked the goddess that if my shyness bothered him, he didn’t show it.
A few moments later, there was a tap on the bathroom door again. “Love, I’m leaving your clothes here on the floor and I’ll wait for you on the balcony. Take your time coming out, okay?”
“Thank you!” I shouted back at him, grateful he was willing to give me space to grab the clothes privately. I waited a few more seconds before opening the door and grabbing a small pile of clothes. I smiled realizing that he’d thought of everything, underwear, sports bra, leggings, and a beautiful cream colored sweater. I felt the sweater curiously and quickly realized it was the softest thing I would have ever worn in my life. I made quick work of putting them on and grabbed the brand new hairbrush on my side of the bathroom vanity. I was shocked at how easy it was to tug through my hair, and I decided I wanted a bit more luxury before I was ready to go out and face my mate. He’d met me bloodied and bruised, it would be nice to have time with him feeling my most attractive to make up for that embarrassment.
I scanned the bottles lining the wall next to my sink, and I found a bottle that said “leave in conditioner”. I read the directions and sprayed it liberally through my hair. I picked up the bottle next to it labeled “curl cream” and after reading the directions, I poured a quarter sized amount into the palm of my hand and applied it to the ends of my hair. I noticed a hair dryer in the cabinet under my sink and I’d always wanted to use one. I plugged it in, set it on low and fought back a moan as warm air began to shoot out of it. I watched as it blew my hair in every which direction until it was almost dry and I was completely mesmerized by my reflection.
I’d never looked better! My curls looked vibrant, the color of my hair even looking a little less dull and my skin looked as though it were almost glowing. I couldn’t believe how good I felt, and I almost felt a bit sad to have been deprived of something so simple and so refreshing at the same time for most of my life. One thing was for sure, I’d be trying the bath tub next as soon as I possibly could.
Giving myself one more quick once over, I took a deep breath and decided it was time to face the music and spend some alone time with my glorious mate.
