It Was Impossible Not To Fall In Love

Chapter Two

Oh I have a boyfriend by the name of Mark. I don't know why I call him my boyfriend though cause our relationship is more like a hook up when one is bored or horny but yah he is. I am craving him right now. I need to release some steam. It's been three weeks. The reason why I don't have a stable relationship is because my ex boyfriend f****d me up pretty bad. We were in a relationship for seven years and he got married to some woman that he used to tell me not to worry about his mom and her mom are blah blah blah. I was hurt when one of my colleagues sent me pictures.

He got married. I drowned into depression for almost a year and like the hero that my dad and young brother are, they nursed me back to life. Here I am today stronger than before and making men taste their own medicine. I don't do relationships period. Sleep invites itself and I follow suit.

I wake up, go on the balcony and breath the fresh air. I stand for a couple of minutes and head to the shower. I dry my body and moisturize after that I take out the outfit I had in mind before sleeping. Long Blue short sleeve jumpsuit with red batignolles heels, black tote handbag. Month end I have to buy myself more formal wear after I pay my tithe and take my dad out for dinner of course. I look good and feel good. I walk to my car, the GPS said it will take me 30 minutes to get to Mr Patton's house. I drive there, he stays in a high class area. I get there and pick Ariana to her school. She is so adorable she's daddy's girl. Her father's spitting image, you know what we say when the child looks like their dad right.

I go to work and arrive 10 minutes late. I hope I don't get in trouble but I learnt that I need to get up earlier than today because traffic in the morning is no child's play.

"Pearl how are you" I say as I walk in the reception. She is focused on her work unlike her. Well maybe I don't know her that much. I just started working yesterday.

"Hey girl, get to the office and do what you are paid for, today we woke up on the wrong side of the bed." she says with a smile.

Oh she's talking about Mr Patton. s**t I am in trouble. I thank her for informing me and heading to the office. I don't even know whether to knock or what but I listen to my instinct that says knock.

"Come on in" he says with his deep voice. Yah shame I am still to know all of his voices, the happy one, sad one, annoyed one and all the others.

I walk in. He is drinking coffee from McCafe yoh I hope it was not my duty to get it.

"Good morning Mr Patton" I greet standing a few inches from his table.

"Morning Talitha, get to work. Check my emails and draw up the schedule for this week and next week because I have already responded to emails that I will be able to attend to and the ones that need rescheduling" he says focusing on his laptop and sipping his coffee. He looks handsome just by that small thing he just did. Stop drooling Litha and get to work.

I just realise that my table and chair are not here yet. They said they will deliver them at 11 meaning it's three hours to go. I walk to my side

"And where are you going to sit?" he asks. I also have no idea. He looks at me for an answer. I am just blank.

"You can sit her with me until your material arrives" he says moving some of his things scattered on the table.

I put my handbag on the chair opposite him and start arranging the table because he has a lot of things that he doesn't need. I am going to find him table organisers shame. As I arrange I ask if other papers he's going to need or not and he answers. After I am done it looks better. I go to take my work laptop, a MacBook for that matter. This company is rich shame. I haven't taken the pc home cause I don't know if it's allowed or not so in my head I decided that I will do everything on Google docs so that it's online and I can access it on my pc when I get home. There's a lot I still need to know here. The induction was short and I was not introduced to all the things.

I sit opposite him, open the pc and start working. How does this guy make time for all these people. Anyway I draft a schedule and keep on asking other things I need to fill in. The office phone rings. I walk to pick it up cause it's by the corner.

"Patton Holdings, Talitha speaking how may I be of assistance" I answer and I am impressed cause I didn't even know what to say but it came out okay.

It's the people who are here to deliver my things I didn't even see the time. I call the reception and ask Pearl to direct them here. They need to leave with their boxes. I don't want them. Minutes later they walk in and I direct them on the open space. They assemble the table and the chair for me. They take their boxes and I give them hundred rands.

"Why did you give them money" Mr Patton asks. So he was paying attention all along

"Because it's not their duty to assemble the things for me so I asked them to cause I was going to take the entire day" I say.

"Oh okay isn't that part of their job" he asks, taking off his glasses. Why is he wearing them cause he doesn't look like he has eyesight problems.

"No it's not. Theirs it's to deliver so I also wasted their time cause they have to deliver other people's stuff. I answer

He looks at me briefly and says "okay I thought it's part of their job".

"What would you like to eat?" I ask standing by my office entrance. I think we need a bar fridge in here for water and drinks.

"Umm I don't know my appetite is low so I'll eat whatever you buy" he says writing something on a notepad. I hope he is not doing my job.

I order. I continue working and texting my sister. She's busy asking how is Boss bae. She has a crush on him though she's older than him. I laugh at her question "how does the bulge look on his trouser". Oh s**t I laughed loud Mr P just gave me a stare. I cover my mouth holding the laugh. Anita is going to get me in trouble. It's half twelve. The delivery guy called for my order so I headed out to pick the order.

"Here's your food Sir" s**t I already said it

"No problem you'll get used to calling me right" he says. At least he understands.

So I go to my station and start eating. I don't care if it's not one already. I have to leave at past one to fetch Ariana at school. After I am done I take wipes and wipe my hands. There's a kitchen on the far end of this corridor but I don't think it's in use also the fridge issue I am going to raise it. By the time I look at my clock it says 13:20 so I decide to head out for the princess.

I inform my boss that I am going to fetch the kid from school. I drive there and find her by the waiting benches with her friends. Her school is fancy I tell you.

"Hey Ari are you ready to go" I ask and she nods standing up. I pick her bag. She says goodbye to her friends and we go.

I drive and make little talk with Ariana asking about school and what they did today. She's 9 years old with a little bit of shyness. She doesn't look like a happy child. She's not much of a talker. I wonder what her mom does for a living. Maybe she's also a workaholic like her dad. Kids from parents who don't have time for them are not entirely happy. I did psychology, that's what it says and I believe it. I see it in my brother's kids, they are just that. My brother is an engineer and the wife a doctor.

I dropped Ariana off at her home. The house you guys it's true when they say money can get you everything well except for happiness though. I get in the office and continue with my work. I inform Mr Patton of tomorrow's schedule even though I still have to remind him an hour before his meetings tomorrow.

Knock off time comes and I make my way out and say my goodbyes to my boss and Pearl at the reception. Today I am getting some good s*x. I call Mark and ask him if it's my place or his. He says his. I drive there

I don't know whether it's full moon or what but my hormones are on another level of being horny maybe I should get myself a dildo in case the warm body is not around. "How are you dad" I ask with a smile on my face

"We can't complain always. How are you" he says

"I am well" I answer. We continue talking about life, the economy and about his construction company. His employees are giving him hard time

"I am telling you those people want me to age young" He says. This old man does not want to grow. He is old

I laugh at him and we conclude our call. I take a shower and get in the covers. I read my book by T.D Jakes Woman Thou Art Loosed, after a chapter I pray and rest my head on the pillow.
