My Mystery Mate

Chapter 4

Over the next week and a half the thought of the mystery scent was pushed to the back of my mind melody was still on high alert to find the person it belonged to. We got on with pack life and prepared for the upcoming ceremony and birthday celebrations.

“3 Days my darling” mother chimes through the door same as every morning with her count down. I'm actually getting excited not for the same reason as her but in 3 days I will be the new Alpha. I quickly shower pull out my favourite blue skinny jeans and a cute fitted white strap top that doesn't quite cover my stomach. I match it with a green cardigan (so I don't stand out in october) and Van's that match my cardigan. I curl my hair and apply a tiny amount of makeup. Once I inspect my appearance I dash down to breakfast. I walk in and join my mother at the table where a full english breakfast is served.

"Anything exciting planned for the day dear" my mother says more cherpy than usual. "Ow I was so excited when I was your age 3 days until I came of age it was the most wonderful time".

"I'm actually looking forward to it" I chime in apparently that is what my mother had been craving I say. "I mean not only has the moon goddess blessed me with a full moon but I also become alpha". My mother gives me a stern look "I guess finding my mate will be exciting as well. Mum can I ask you something? "

"anything dear"" she says placing her hand on mine. I guess i should tell her my true feelings i mean i haven't told anyone not even Jake.

"Mum I'm scared!" I look down in embarrassment. An Alpha scared that's not what alphas are supposed to be like. My mum says nothing and waits for me to continue. "I'm scared of finding my mate. What if he's nothing like I expect? What if he wants me to leave our pack? That's never going to happen. What if he doesn't like me?" With all of that out I sigh and suddenly feel like a weight has been lifted.

My mum sits there and smiles. "If he rejects you or doesn't like you that is his big mistake if you don't like him well that's not going to happen and leaving the pack is up to you all of this is your terms my dear". With her words of wisdom I clear my plate and run to the door. I'm off to the shopping centre with some of the other girls going to get our stuff for the celebration. Have fun my mother calls as I run out the door and jump in my car. I meet the girls half way between the pack house and my parents. Sophie and Bethan both daughters of the warrior looking immaculate as always ready I say finding it hard to contain my excitement us girls don't get to go shopping that often so we always made the most of it.

We head into town and start looking for our formal outfit first as that is the more difficult to find. We search high and low in as many shops as possible until I find the one. A elegant ice blue dress matching my eyes it has a thin halter neck strap and just the right amount of sparkle the dress touches the ground. As I stand their in it I know this is the one it fits perfectly almost as if it was made for me I thank the moon goddess and change back into my clothes to pay.

Pine and Cherries. Cherries and Pine. Mate Mate Melody jumps around. I look to see where it is coming from as soon as the shop keeper hands me my bag I'm out the door but it's gone the scent is gone.

I walk down the street and as I'm on my way to another meeting I leave for home in 1week. As i pass a small boutique I see the most beautiful woman with long flowing red curly hair and the most magnificent eyes. She stands their in a dress that matches her eye and touches every curve the goddess has blessed her with. I want to give in introduce myself but she doesn't sense me. It's her I know it's her but her scent it's not there. Maybe its not her.

It's her my wolf declares it's her go speak to her. I cant I have to get to this meeting I push through the crowds and away from the shop.

It's her I'm telling you the girl from the running track it's her! He fights for control but I win if i see her again i don't think i will be able to hold him off. I will go by the track she has been there everyday for the last 3 2 weeks. She will be training alone as always then I will talk to her. Nut until then I have to focus I have a pack back home waiting on my return with news of the Rogue kings whereabouts. Plus I have a new Alpha to meet in 3 days great just what we need a new 18year old female alpha of all things. They want me to stay for the party I think not the ceremony and then I'm gone. The current Alpha is a good friend of my father. Their pack was one that fled years ago. It's the only reason im going.

I return to the shop where next girls they drag me to a new shop that opened recently Victoria secrets to buy some lace underwear. I know this is them having a laugh as I'm sure nothing in here will accommodate my chest.

I don't want them bigger thanks girls I hand it back to them and carry in looking without out another word the girls have picked up numerous items and run to the till. Here you go a little pre birthday present you can tell your mate to thank us. I roll my eyes and we all giggle time for the party outfit. This is the best part where the outfits get smaller and more skin on show

How can I wind my father up I grin as we go to work on finding the perfect outfit. After 2 more hours we are done. I have settled on a little black dress with black glitter Van's always need a pair of comfortable shoes. Bethan has a baby pink dress with black heels and sophie an emerald green dress with a plunge neck line. We go our separate ways i jump into my car and I head to the track to practise with all my shopping in hand.
